I know FDNY has a similar hosebed setup on their engines. This is mostly the purpose of high-rise emergencies for the Manhattan district. I'm not familiar with this fire department, but if they have high-risers as well, this would most likely be the case. If anything else, this would be the hose supply truck.
Fair enough =) Not saying they had to be in a city for that style truck. I've seen trucks in the countryside type areas carry just as much hose. Thanks for all the info.
