VERY good video!! I'm about to do some engine detail work on my 2000 Audi S4 shortly. I find it useful that when you do a good engine wash and if you're nervous about water getting into the alternator (which is the major concern really since ECUs are usually in a water-tight cage on 90% of cars), you can just blow dry it with those computer parts air cans or an air compressor. The only other worry really is the coil packs on the plugs. If you get water down there, you can cause arcing and from there, misfiring. I usually pull out the coil packs and blow dry down there too. Then just sit back, watch the black goo stream leave your driveway and into the neighbor's lawn, and enjoy your newly cleaned engine!

Nice video pans philosophy Phil. You may have also forgotten CarPro PERL. E is for Engine. Personally I use Meguiar’s Hyper Dressing at 1:3 for a slightly satin finish. Applied when the engine is still wet, it dries to a perfectly level finish. 303 and PERL are just that bit more difficult, I have found, to get level. Keep up the great work. Lloyd

@@MirandaDetailing Mighty Boss is a professional degreaser and multi-purpose cleaner. Discovered it in line at my local Tractor Supply store. The guy in front of me bought 10 of them! He's a big rig driver and boasted about how great Mighty Boss is at removing bugs and debris from the front of his big rigs. He left 1 bottle behind and I bought it!! Been using it ever since, too! Great video. I wholeheartedly support that you are moving away from tool and product reviews. Videos about tips, tricks, processes, and even videos of you just playing around and then talking out loud about your thoughts as you experiment, all those videos are highly valuable and standout. Of course now that I've said that I've got a question about one of your tools, lol. I followed the link you provided to that fabulous quiet air compressor. It comes in aluminium and steel. Which metal did you choose? Why? Do you know if one is more silent than the other?
@MirandaDetailing
@MirandaDetailing 3 года назад
Hi! Thanks so much! I went with the steel tank, it was slightly cheaper but thats not the reason I choose it. If it was going in my trailer, I would have picked the aluminum one because it won't rust and its lighter. But I they have the same motor so I'm sure it won't effect the noise level. But honestly I don't know since I dont have both. However I LOVE this thing, so quiet and fills up fast. If you need it for spraying go with a larger tank size, but if you need it simply for detailing, this perfect!

nice video...I've recently found your channel, and will continue to watch. How does your "tornador" tool work with that compressor?? I'm just one man working out of my garage with a low budget. I have great skills, and I'm all for using what works without following the "hype" and thinking I have to buy name brand stuff, or I'm a hack - that's just crap. But, many say the tornador will not run correctly without a 30 gallon tank minimum.....I don't want the air gun to stop every 30 seconds, and then also wait 5-10 mins while the tank fills back up....I love to defy the majority of sheep and find items that truly work well (even though others refuse to acknowledge it because they think they need a Kranzle to be effective...ya know what I mean?) I'd love to find a simple compressor to put in my small garage that will allow me to use the tornador....any thoughts that may help clear up some facts?? thanks

Get any citrus degreaser, cover alternator & battery terminal, wet engine, spray degreaser, let sit for 5 minutes, get a dust pan brush and agitate arears around holes in top of hood. garden hose on spray, done in 5 minutes. Done it many timers, keeps my engine looking good!

you can wet a car engine no issues BUT electronic parts are insulated and what can happen is that seal can become bad over time and water would get in it and cause issues. If this should happen that is not anybodys fault so nobody should make a fuss about it. This perticular issue started to become an issue so I stopped it and called that a day.

Interesting. All the mechanics I’ve talked to say modern day engines can get wet with no problems. Sad though If that’s not the case with newer car from GM...then I’m glad I have my acknowledgment form in place to cover us. Also if GM is doing that with their engines then places with high humidity are going to have issues. Moisture will get into those terminals and other sensitive areas no matter what. They WILL have more issues if they are not building their engines with water tight seals.
