It's a heat exchanger to cool the oil, so basically an oil cooler. Next time mention the vacuum pump as well and ask your student which instruments will stop working if it fails. Great explanation.
@@patcism They rock back and forth, one end from the pushrod, the other end pushes down on the valve stem. They operate your intake and exhaust valves. If you remove the (6 or 8?) screws, you can easily see your valves, rockers and rocker shafts under that cover. It’s very interesting & easy, but I think you’re technically supposed to have a mechanic do it
