I’ve noticed that one of the big things that makes Spoon such a valuable addition to the team is his pure confidence. Like when they were thrashing to get the coupe ready for Final Bout, Jimmy said “hopefully we’ll make it in time” and Spoon immediately went “No we’re *gonna* make it on time.” Or just now with the wiring harness. Jimmy said “I’ll plug in and see what I did wrong, if it’ll be a one hour ordeal or two days” and again, Spoon said “it’ll be one hour”.

Yo Jimmy make sure you get the engine tin in-between the engine compartment gasket or it will not keep the water and dirt out. I have worked on air-cooled vw for a while so I know it is a pain but it's very important

4:40 On 991 onwards the stock ecu is mounted on the top right of the engine compartment, which are way more packed and heat soaked than on the 964. So should be no problem for the link ecu to handle the temp next to the engine

4:57 This always seems funny to me. Because it’s like people forget Audi/Lambo V10 platform cars have both of their ECUs in the bay, and I believe new Audis like the RS6 also have their ECU in the bay for easy access

You should paint the yellow cap as well! would help a ton

for anybody doubting ECU in the engine bay, my altezza has the factory ECU in a plastic box in the engine bay, practically behind the left headlight!

Loving the build! Im a porsche tech and you skipped putting a new engine pad in the engine bay

The ECU being near the engine should not cause any issues. I’m a Diesel Mechanic and I work on CAT engines mostly, but the ECU/ECM’s are mounted on the cool side of the block away from turbo & manifold.

Was buzzing around in the bug yesterday and today😊, just what the doctor ordered🎉

ECU in the engine bay is fine. My Volvo T5 has the ECU in the engine bay combined with the factory air box. So, it’s fine. 👍🏼
