Wow, AMAZING video! Short, sweet and to the point. Thanks for not filling a lot of time just yapping about a bunch of things that have nothing to do with the instructions! So many vids have way too much jabber about nothing and stops ppl from even finishing the video. Lol. I wish every how-to video was as great as yours, thank you very much! Great video. Like putting the gaskets on studs to keep them aligned, really smart imho. Like the very little torque you used also to tighten everything up. Personally don't like the cork gaskets, I think they're close to useless. Did you use lockwashers?? just curious. Thanks for the video.

Finally, an answer! I put RTV silicon on a two-piece gasket set, both sides, and torqued it to the specs found in the Haynes manual. Big mistake. The cork gasket was squeezing out by a good 1/4" is some spots, and the ends of the cork gasket where it joins the rubber one squirted out too. I knew it wasn't right and that I was doing something wrong. I like the idea of using spray adhesive on the engine side of the gasket. Also, the inch-lb torque specs in the Haynes manual have to be wrong. I'll do it your way. Thanks!

I use a small torque wrench for these jobs as the nuts/bolts don't have to be very tight, many people do tighten up the bolts too much and ruin the gasket, then it has no chance of stopping oil from leaking, I also make sure the oil pan is level with regard to bolt holes so it has even pressure all the way around.

How awesome, now if I could just pull my engine and flip it upside down.

Yeah but how you going to do that with the emgine is on the car?

is it like to valve covers, let the silicone dry for 5 min?

i like the last comment, 100% oil leak free, dont put oil in the motor :-) ha ha yes then your 100% sure no oil will come out ;-)

why the hell are you using a multi piece gasket ???
