Coming from a maintenance trade back ground it may be great to have it all polished but the best reason for it being so clean is to just be able to see the slightest signs of a fluid leak and act quickly to find out why the leak is showing. What a credit to the onboard engineers.

13:00 Nice to see such a substantial power filtering system. Not only will this greatly extend the life of everything plugged in, from nav systems to light bulbs, but it also eliminates the largest cause of failure on critical equipment. As a side note, they are also better for the environment because they eliminate appliances wasting power from sustained over-voltage, power-factor, spikes, heat and emf radiation.

Often, when we see stuff about Super yachts a lot comments arise about rich people and how outrageous "toys" like these are. I see it differently (as a relatively poor guy). What I see is an investment, that have fed a lot of families during the build, but also during operation.

Also when yacht owners decide to open their vessels and lend their crews to chartering, they are giving an opportunity to others to enjoy the world of yachting for that dream vacation that many families could never afford otherwise.

Thank you so much for this awesome video. I was dying to see inside and you delivered. This channel is awesome! As a power generator field engineer, I spent plenty of time in mechanical and engine spaces on cruise ships, ice breakers, and oil rigs. The chief engineer takes tremendous pride in his work and the equipment under his charge. The yachts owner is extremely lucky to have such a capable and caring engineer.

Been in few large vessels enginerooms, and they tend to be pretty clean and tidy. Tugs tend to be spotless. I saw the main engine aboard MSC Oliver a few years ago, 195,000grt, and that was glistening . . . 85,000hp driving her at max 25 knots . . .

The fact of the matter is, a clean working environment actually makes your life better. It's a lot easier to spot a leak on a pristine engine than on one coated with oil and crap. It's also less dangerous. Cleanliness is vital to doing good work and living to tell about it.

Wow, it never ceases to amaze me how much these yachts cost to run. 500 liters an hour at 14/15 mph equals 132 gallons of fuel to go 14 miles! In todays gas prices, that's about $450.00 to travel 14 miles! Wow, it's mind boggling to me. To put it in perspective, a transatlantic crossing will cost right around $100,000 dollars, and take 8 days assuming your running 24/7. I guess if you can afford these multi million dollar yachts it's pocket change, but man, that is some self indulgence I am not sure I could deal with even if I had the money! She is a huge boat at 85m or 280' and is an explorer yacht so I get the costs involved, but wow! FYI, Bold cost about $100 million to build, she charters for $875,000 a week not including anything but the yacht, and I think, the captain, and maybe the crew? Wowser again! 😁👍✌

Maybe I missed it or it wasn't mentioned, but do they use Marine Gas Oil (MGO) or Low-Very Sulfur Fuel Oil (VLSFO) or just plain diesel? I'm guessing diesel or MGO since it is pretty much the standard in Florida, Bahamas and the Caribbean. Not many places have VLSFO available.
