I just noticed your Beacon on the bottom of the plane, what brand or type is it? i have been thinking of adding one.

I would find a different fix for the flight control cable issue vs a patch. Kydex is a durable material but the cable ties are not and could cause an even more dangerous binding condition if things get loose. Proper reliable flight controls are the most critical part of an airplane.
