how does this guy know so much.. pedology, geology, petrology, hydrology, hydrogeomorphology, geotechnics etc. and to think he's a professor at a relatively unknown US college. USA truly is leading the world in terms of science it seems.

Honestly, people better be sending this man messages of appreciation. He is teaching folks across the planet.

The experience / skill Dr. Rogers has is incredible! I learn so much Watching, I will never use in my Field, but enjoy learning from Him. Thanks

11 years after here in 2022 J David rocks. His geologic time scale is a bit off (by say 50MY regarding the Jurassic / Cretaceous boundary, and he’s 800,000 years off for the Yellowstone hotspot eruption cycle) but what a few million here and then for idlers like me who swoon over the brass of a base voiced semper fi jet jock who eats rock and spits nails?

Peter Mueller -- I personally don't put much Faith in the Geologic Column and the time Periods.

Fnorgen -- I Love hearing his Lectures myself PLUS I feel like I should have been a Geologist myself since I have been interested in it since I was young.

@@brucewinningham4959 cause rain fall? Solutioning, like chemical weathering…?
@brucewinningham4959
@brucewinningham4959 Год назад
@@CheleChilindra -- Correct. I "assume" the Caves & Sinkhole are produced by the Carbonic Acid from the Rain. I used to LOVE to go Spelunking when I was younger. I hate to say it but I am afraid my Spelunking days are over since having Back Surgery last May.

What is the Physical or Scientific reasoning for underground water to flow or travel the "Great Circle" Movement (as the Professor calls it) to point of being pumped at the well? There is NO DOUBT this is True but I don't understand "why" it is True.

Thanks for this, James Lawrence. Thought we had cut out all of the dead time. These are live and recorded lectures, so there's usually some downtime during the beginning, break and ending as it's live. We tried to cut out all of the downtime before uploading, but apparently missed this somehow.

A slight consideration ignored is the fact that the world keeps getting larger due to space dust and meteors being deposited on earth every day! Changes geomorphology .
@brucewinningham4959
@brucewinningham4959 Год назад
Ron Noonan -- I think he mentioned that, maybe in another video.
@brucewinningham4959
@brucewinningham4959 Год назад
He didn't mention "space dust" but he is aware of the problem with overpopulation and is aware it can continually get worse. I know for a fact the Water Table has been lowered since I first started working on a Well Drilling Rig in the Spring of 1974.

Multiple websites on geology repeatedly refer to huge amounts of inland water posited to be lakes on inland oceans. Maybe the inland water was part of a global flood documanted by the bible. What say you Dr?
