+alastair wilson Hello there! First of all, thank you for the nice words! I appreciate it! For me, the INVADER II (Including the Sound Wizard Module) is THE ultimate amp. Besides that I love the "Retro" head and combo but talking also about lower volumes, I think the Ironball is the winner. Just my personal opinion of course. All ENGL amps are great and so diverse. It really depends on what you want to achieve soundwise. The Rockmaster is able to sound quite heavy as well, especially with high output pick ups but perfect for blues - Hardrock. If you are into Metal you might check out the Metalmaster. very cool low mid EQ section but not soooo perfect for blues Rock in my opinion :) but that´s why it is called the Metalmaster ;)...bottom line, if you are looking for a versatile amp that can do quite a range of styles from Jazz to Classic Rock to Metal, also at lower volumes, I would go for the Ironball. It sounds incredible in your living room but I also played it at the Sweden Rock Festival on a big stage and it really worked and sounded marvelously well! Ppiliph Nhaj i play metal out of an engl thunder 50 thru a 1x12 peavey cab regularly and it sounds great. you'd be surprised what you can get away with!

James Guevara honestly you should play backing tracks through a separate set of non guitar soeakera

It's a Shure SM 57, the most used mic for electric guitar. Everybody uses that one

+arjan snijder The amp does not have a second Master Volume or a Master Volume Boost. But the FX Loop is switchable!

hmm okay, that's a bummer but i gues a eq pedal with midbost could also solve that problem. nice thing about this amp is tough that you don't need more gain, heck with allot of engl you don't need more. is this louder then the engl ironball or just as loud. my only complaint about the ironball was that it could't keep the volume above the drummer when not equed. yet to test this one ^^.

+Revit UpNow dude, about everybody that plays metal. And why would you "constantly" be on the "lead" channel?. Go watch rigg rundowns of revocation and or other "thrash" bands heck jeff waters even prefers his boost for solos, believe me allot. But problem solved if you ad something like and "ep" boost by exotic to the chain in the loop.

+ENGL amps ooh okay. But i think that wouldn't be a big problem, you can always lets say set it on scoop mode and for leads scoop mode of for more midrange. Does the combo add up to the head?, a combo is convenient for thrashing at home at perhaps lower volumes and portability and still can hook it up to a cab i asume right. I think if i would buy one i would consider the combo, already have 2 heads so why buy i third right. I'm in for a really awesome practise and rehearsal amp.

Revit UpNow i've got a tube screamer, even got 2. yeah sometimes that works, but sometimes i like the overal sound of a screamer so leave it on the entire time. thing is, you can set this amp to scoop an unscoop for leads for instance. yeah allot of options true.
