i get that Graham, my grandfather was a rear gunner on Halifax bombers based at RAF Scampton Lincs. My great Aunt Gertrude’s home in Clapham was bombed during the blitz. Do NOT lecture me! Singing songs about the glory days of the RAF in a pub in London, no problem with that. Singing them to intimidate our friendly German hosts while kids are going by in pushchairs I TOTALLY condemn! We Scots as well as Irish, Welsh and other commonwealth nations fought the Nazi war machine as well but we go to Germany to play football. Not act like thugs… show kindness and respect Graham. Follow the example of the Scots fans 💙⚽️💙⚽️

Explain why it’s disgraceful.. I’ve sung this song with Germans who love it.. Do you understand what a “bomber” is ? It’s an aircraft full of explosive ordinance intended to destroy military targets, infrastructure of civilian life of a foreign country in this case being flown under command of the Nazis.. If you think the notion of celebrating a time when young men and women gave their lives to fight back against tyranny and oppression is wrong then you are already far too gone to save. Meanwhile hundreds of thousands of people in the Uk are chanting anti-Semitic slogans and people are crying about this. Make it make sense. X
