South West Coast Path - This week’s Day Tripper adventure. So glad my good friend of 30 years York Membery could join me on the ‘easy’ section 😂 of this brutally extreme hike! This thru-hike pushed me to the limit and beyond. Using new walking boots was a mistake and I had blisters on day one. Such wild coast and country nothing for 30 miles apart from Wild Deer! Where will I find water? Will my feet survive? Why am I hiking the South West Coast path? Am I crazy? 👍🇬🇧😄

Nice going! I would say you're a bit over encumbered for backpacking. Wearing running shoes and lightening your load should help a lot.

shaunsprogress thanks for the tips. I’m relatively new to this and learning from each trip. I guess each adventure makes you assess what you enjoy most and check out better ways of doing things. 👍🇬🇧😄

Thanks for watching. What an adventure! Thanks to my friend York for joining me on the first (easy 😂) section to Swanage. When I went solo it was survival mode, a real struggle. Will I make it? 👍🇬🇧😄

When you step out into strange territory you have to survive and grow stronger. Each trip is new learning experience to make next one more prepared and hopefully less worrying 👍🇬🇧😄

Dorset is the only decent place left to live in in England. That said, the costal path is magnificent,however the best path in England is the Pennine way,no contest!

OK a few worries there with the feet and sack but from what I can tell a cracking start. I mean open sea, great weather, wild deer and a real stealthy camp remote and wondrous. You sounded bouyant. Mark

Hi Mark, yeah, I don’t follow my 5 tips! 😂. I wish I’d taken my old boots but they are badly worn out and split. It has been memorable time but really needed more extreme climbing and descending training. Too hard on knees and feet carrying 10 kg pack. I’m learning every trip 👍🇬🇧😄

@@DayTripperAdventures No, sometimes we don't listen. A top. Carry weight in your day sack around town or elsewhere. I call it silent training.
