I totally understand what Tom is saying about Bellingham in the 10, but we have 3 other world-class players who can also play that position. The 8 role is dead with Bellingham at the 10; he will still be world-class at the 8 and just allow another baller in the 10, rather than playing other players out of position just to get them in the squad. It just ends up building through an unbalanced team and leaves the left-hand side so dead, and so open, top teams will kill us with that left-hand side. For me, you drop Trent back into the RB position (inverted RB) and put Walker through onto that LB position. Walker offers nothing in creativity anyway, so he can sit in the LB role well. Gordon on the left will help out defensively, and Trent's cross-field balls will unlock that left side running at that back line. It will stretch the defence, meaning Kane will have more time on the ball as the CB's won't be so narrow, and have Foden in the 10. It opens up more substitution options with the likes of Palmer and Eze in that 10 as well. I agree with Lewis; Kane had to come off, Southgate is such a reactive manager rather than proactive.

yeah I would say as an outsider watching the english game it seems that they struggle with the finishing aspect. Thats where the problem lies. Reev kept saying their not an exiting team to watch but then they always rave about how good the team is. Half the proof of how good a team plays is by how exiting it is to watch. Could you risk having Walker at LB, in attack he becomes a back 3 cb. Rb Trent who becomes right winger in attack. Drop Bellingham in the 8 as he was good as cam but he wasn’t so good he is unstoppable. He was good there because he is a good player. It would be more useful to use him as an attacking 8 and get foden’s full use in cam. Saka stays rw but can push further forward since Trent will push up in attack. Palmer at lw as he has been playing on the wing for Poch a few times, admittedly only on the right though. But he and Foden can rotate seamlessly. So in attack it would look more like . I feel like people who are going at Foden are biased or just jumping on the bandwagon. In the first 20-30 mins he was in good positions and quite often he was asking for the ball in space, but Trent and Rice were not seeing him in the half spaces. 2nd half he made a couple of poor passes, but you can’t tell he he’s lost all technical ability in the space of 1 month.
