England Squad Announced for Tour to Japan and NZ - Fin or Marcus? 

Slightholme vs Telea Feyi-Waboso vs Clark them 4 right there could make the tour worth while on its own. Think Razor is the answer for the AB's going back to the top. think it'll be 2-0 to the AB's but very very close games. one hell of a young squad going on tour for England and very promising times ahead. Kiwi's seem to be the only fans who can appreciate players regardless of their origin so very excited for to see the reactions towards, Dan, Martin, Cunningham South, Fin Smith, Slightholme and the potential world beater that is Feyi-Waboso.

Watson isn’t done yet just hasn’t really been fit since before the World Cup. He’s on one of the new RFU hybrid contracts I think so he’ll come straight back into the reckoning when fit.

A lot of optimism about this squad up here in England. The feeling is that a lot of the older guys you mention - Vunipolas, Youngs, Daly etc - hadnt really been firing for a few years. But the English clubs did better than expected in the European Cup this year and played a lot of exciting rugby, largely off the back of young talent. Guys like Baxter, Cunningham-South, Fin Smith, Feyi-Waboso, Sleightholme are all tearing it up. That said, touring NZ is a big ask and you're right that a 1-1 series would be seen as a massive win for England. Can't wait!

As a Bristol Bears fan I'm delighted for Gabriel Oghre & Harry Randall. They have had a fantastic season here in the Gallagher Premiership and hope they get some game time. Looking forward to the new All Blacks era too, can't wait to binge watch some International test rugby!!

Not expecting England to win the series but just be competitive. Last time NZ put England to the sword was in Hamilton going back some years otherwise its been close games between the 2 sides, at least England have some pace in their backline now.

Looking forward to see how the young lads go against the All Black team . The 'summer ' has not arrived yet in England, its around 10C and windy/rainy so maybe it has? Finn Smith is an interesting lad and he might flourish in the heat of a test match . Should be informative. Cheers mark!

The best 28/29 players in that squad are of a very good standard. Borthwick is definitely guilty of selecting some “tourists” who won’t disrupt the apple cart too much if they don’t play and will be positive around camp. There’s quite a few guys outside of the squad that, on merit, should really be there (guys like Langdon, Hill, Pearson, Murley)

I hope Sleightholme has a good showing. I still think this tour could be too much for the England squad, given the annual commitments. But I’ve been a big fan of Borthwick since he took over.

Just curious of how England would play? will they play their new Attack style out of the passed two games or the Territorial kicking game that hey usually do? Thing is the new system i think they will use on Japan but in the 1st test i think they will go old school. mainly because New Zealand will thrive off of newer open play style, catch a few interceptions or force England to make mistakes. but they struggle with the set piece game which England is one of the stronger teams. Like in 03 New Zealand were force to play England's game in Auckland. or more recently with France and South Africa.

This will be a tough ask for the ABs. How long will Robertson get first time with his squad pre first test? I expect a few hiccups first year, but in the long run Razors tenure being highly successful.

England will miss Genge, no genuine carriers in the front row apart from Dan. NZ have a very mobile, threatening front row, especially if Asafo Aumua gets picked - could cause havoc! Ted Hill is a big omission, would have preferred him to Ben Curry. Although would be great to see twins on the pitch together 🙂 Should be a great series.

England hasn't had a summer yet. Dunedin will be fine....

Following some more positive performances in the latter stages of the 6N there's some positivity around a single win in NZ would be massive. In the squad there's only really the omission of Ted Hill that I'd argue with. Kiwi born Roots is a good honest player but reckon he's not got much of a point of difference and not showing he's international standard IMO. All Blacks post RWC bit of an unknown quantity with the amount of retirements and those taking time overseas. I think the relative weakness of your domestic comp may prove to hurt the AB's long term. England lacking depth and experience at 12 and both props.
