I was there with my Dad. Both of us supporting Wales and I recall being distraught at the disallowed try. We were in the North Stand and I will swear the Welsh hand was first to touch down.

Clearly a try by JJ Williams getting there b4 Duckham. I think the ref knew if he'd awarded the try his beloved Ireland wouldn't of won the 74 championship!

Played it 10 times non-stop..but not conclusive from the TV camera angle whereas the ref was perfectly in line as he closely followed up! He had the best and clear view. Sorry Noel!

Two seconds later, an irate Welsh fan carrying a flag raced on to the pitch and gave a big verbal blast to the ref. He was hopping mad, but don't worry, it's only a game!

"Time is running out for the men from the valleys!" The likes of Mervyn Davies, Phil Bennett, JJ Williams, Gareth Edwards etc did not play for Valley's clubs but played their club rugby for the likes of Cardiff, Llanelli, London Welsh.

yeah, it's like BBC presenters talking about Catherine Zeta Jones (from Mumbles) coming from the valleys; many English people seem to think all of South Wales or Wales as a whole is "the valleys"
