I have been watching these uploads and always wonder how these West Indian bowlers would have fared against outright attacking batsmen. Mathew Hayden, Sehwag. Remember what happened against the Pakistani batsmen of the late 70s and early to mid 80s. And occasionally Gooch and Crowe. But i suppose that bowlers like Marshall and Garner and Ambrose would have found a way to succeed. Hari
Yes Pringle and Cook never international standard. How Pringle played 30 tests I will never know - batting average 15, bowling strike rate 35.97 and he was supposed to be an all-rounder.
It still puzzles me why Marshall was allowed to bowl with a cast on his arm in this match. It must have been a distraction to the batsman and, therefore, not allowable. Why didn't they object?
With both officials and players having no objection, why do you conclude that it was not allowable? I'm sure they are well versed in rules of the game.
