Tufnell was an absolute world beater when the mood took him - flight of an angel and gave it a proper rip. Badly managed, surely?

Most players never win a test on their own..Tufnell did it 3 or 4 times..genius he was..just not consistent.

You can see why England were so excited. They must have thought they had found their world class spinner for the 1990’s. It didn’t quite turn out that way.
