being an American, i find it amazing that Darts is such a phenomenon in the UK...I can't believe I'm this late to the party! I never thought I'd see tens of thousands of people buying tickets to fill an arena to watch guys play what has largely been seen as a drunken, barroom game...cool stuff!
Darts is one of the most underrated sports, people pass it off as boring. It's amazing to watch and the big events are always great, has the greatest crowds too, amazing thing
Lewis knew exactly what he was doing,he didn't let mvg get into any type of rhythm.gamesmanship at its highest but they lifted the trophy so fairplay I suppose
it was the way lewis celebrated throwing that 180s.. walking up to the crowd raising his arms which is perfectly normal but he probably did that to throw mvg of his game. van gerwen didnt like that and got salty towards the end.
Look at them now MVG 3x world champion and over 30 PDC major titles, world number one for over 4 years Lewis getting more weight every year and none a single title
He deliberately goes over the 20 required because he’s on 5 with one dart left. He prefers to go back to 20 (Double 10) than hit a single 1 to leave 4 (Double 2).
So I don’t watch darts so don’t flame me for this if I sound stupid. But like if he was down by 24 and hits the 12, why doesn’t he just hit the 12 a second time to make it 24 instead of going for a double 6?
T19 is the second highest score. It's considered an alternative whenever the t20 is covered by the previous darts, or if the previous darts didn't stick properly in the t20, so players switch in order to avoid fall outs
also sometimes if they’ve been missing the t20 but have been consistent on the t19 they’ll switch to the t19 until they get their confidence back on the t20
This was some bullshit the change in format. Should always be a pairs game in deciders. You had your chance as individuals to prove your country is better in the match. You shouldn't get to decide the final matchup in a 1v1. Its a team tournament.
It's really not that difficult. Start from 501, subtract your score to get to 0 EXACTLY. You must finish on a double (outside red/green ring) or the bullseye. Middle red/green band counts treble.
Lewis seems to get all pissy whenever someone steps away from the board wrong. Yet he acts like a jackass in this instance. This is why MVG and Barney are more liked
Bullseye = 50pts, Red rectangle above the bullseye (treble/triple 20)= 60pts, so if three of your darts go in the bullseye you'll score 150pts, three darts in the treble/triple 20 you'll score 180, I hope that helped Here is a more detailed explanation of how the scoring system works in darts upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fe/Dartboard_heatmap.svg/1024px-Dartboard_heatmap.svg.png
I know he still in the PDC. Just don’t see him enough in the later stages of the major tournaments these days, and I think it’s criminal not picking him for the Premier League the last few years. X2 World Champion 🎯👌🏻
