Brilliant as usual. The Canberra is one of my favorite jets from yesteryear. With that flat wide wing structure it is one of the very aesthetically pleasing jet bombers to watch on the ground and in the air. But that amount of sanding was insane on the kit. You did a wonderful job

G'day Doctor, Thanks for this video. During my time in the RAAF I never saw a Canberra painted up in these colours. As it happens, I was familiar with this particular aircraft. I only saw it painted in the RAAF standard Canberra liveries of all Dark Green or Dark Green and black camo. This is a good effort for a 1/72 kit except I have to query the 'mottley' texture of the surface finish. They always had a much smoother gloss or semi-gloss surface finish. The RAAF Canberra is one of my all time favourite aircraft but given this kit was so badly moulded and ill fitting that needed so much extra preparation, I would not have bothered even starting it. Many companies make far superior fitting kit for this aircraft. Please pardon me for being so negative it's just that your airbrush seemed to be spitting out 'dots' of dark paint residue or some such material. It was a pity you did all that excellent polishing work just to end up with surfaces that were far too rough. There is an excellent, large book published in 2021, (to mark the RAAF's 100th anniversary). It has excellent reference pictures and the full histories of every aircraft ever flown by the RAAF. It's an expensive book, titled, 'Aircraft of the RAAF'. But if you are fond of modelling RAAF aircraft, as many people are, I promise this book is an excellent investment if one is looking for historical accuracy. The RAAF website is another source for details and histories of our squadrons down through the years. I hope you don't mind my comments, they are intended to help you, and others, who want to model RAAF aircraft. Cheers, and all the very best, Bill H. P.S. I forgot to mention that the RAAF often used to experiment with different liveries and camo patterns, so the scheme you used may have been from a rare photo of a trial paint job that, obviously, was not adopted as a standard livery. BH.

Yah, was also wondering what that crap was splattering out of his airbrush - very chunky.

Thanks for posting the video! I am currently building this kit so wanted to share some insights to hopefully help others in the process. As mentioned by Doctor MiG, the fit of most part is not great. Key recommendation is to dry-fit everything and sand, sand, sand until you improve the fit as good as you can. Lots of panel re-scribing will follow for sure. Do not cement/glue big pieces all at once, start on one side and move slowly as you fit the different sections - one example of this is fitting the engines to wings: I glued the front part first, let it dry, then closed the wing and glued the back (otherwise the parts will not conform to the proper curvature you need to have the engines fit smoothly). The cockpit area is also tricky since you have to attach the front wheel bay to the back of the cockpit prior to closing the fuselage, so it's a bit of an effort to dry-test and find the proper angle for the parts before gluing. The instructions are not helpful enough as the don't show the exact positioning of parts... it's more like "this part goes more or less over there, good luck" If you are used to the usual slots in fuselage to attach wings or horizontal stabilizer, forget it: there's nothing like that in this kit. The horizontal surfaces have to be positioned flush to the fuselage and glued... and no idea how but hope they stay in place and at the proper angle while the cement dries (have just reached this phase of the build and am dancing around the problem with not much enthusiasm to tackle it). I am no pro but also not a beginner, with 10+ kits built this year, yet am finding this one very challenging. Hope I'm learning new skills in going through it.

@@doctormig2709 did you have to add weight to the nose section to keep the plane standing properly on front wheel? This is my time to do it before I close the canopy.

Greetings Doc, that is absolutely outstanding, the weathering was as per normal perfection at its best, congratulations on a excellent job, and even being 1/72nd scale I would consider building it, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
