1 Mind games = a bluff = a psychological trick to manipulate someone's mind 2 to bluff one's way into something 3 in the back of my mind = thinking about something, but It's not the number one your thinking about 4 great minds think alike = we both have great minds (ur a genius, I'm also a genius 😉) 5 you read my mind= you knew what I was thinking = same expression as great minds think alike 6 to put your mind to it= to put all ur effort into it Example, to put Yr mind to it ,nothing is impossible ,u can succeed nd become fluent in English 7 out of sight out of mind = if the problem is out of sight, let's ignore it 8 sweep something under the rug = to hide or ignore a problem 9 midn your manners = be polite 10 you're out of ur mind = your crazy 11 to take your mind out of something = to distract ur self from problems by doing something = blowing of steam 12 to give someone a piece of your mind = to let them have it 13 it blew (someone's) mind = shocking = surprising 14 I slipped my mind = I must have forgotten it 15 to have peace of mind = your assured or calm 16 a state of mind = your mindest It's all about your mindset, if u think your a go-getter , u can do it regardless of any problems 💯sure 17 To take a load of your mind = to be relieved 😌 Hope u found this helpful!!!!
Wow! Watching videos of Drake is a mind-blowing experience! Congrats to both of you Lisa and Drake for creating these fascinating videos to teach us accurate English with a beautiful American accent.
Mind game In the back of my mind Great mind thinks alike Read someone's mind To put your mind to it Out of sight out of mind To take your mind off something To take a load off your mind.
Good morning from Northern part of Thailand. I've been acquainted with English for many years but when it comes to a time to speak, I feel lack of confidence snd I really wonder where all the vocabularies I've learnt have gone. They just don't come to my mind. When I watch this VDO of yours, I love the way it's been presented and can understand every word you say and now I can gain more confidence to speak it out. Thank you so much.
I really loved this video, Lisa. You are a wonderful and creative teacher. Thank you, you are helping to understand several expressions. God bless you.
Thank you Lisa for another great lessons. I would like to make a good suggestion. If you can post your lesson with script in your website, this would definitely help your student to learn your course proactively and intentionally. I think in this way also will grow the accurate English community as well. Again , big fans for your course.
Go getter, state of mind, put his mind to it. When Drake came to Santa Monica, he had his state of mind be an actor. One time he had an audition opportunity, he put his mind to it. He told himself there is no quick fix of getting rid of his New York accent, He told himself I will show you I will be your go getter. In the end of audition, the producer played mind games, bluffed to Drake, he did not get the part. This is not the first time Drake was told so, he decided to sweep it under the rug, let it out of sight, out of mind,,,,, try again ,,,,, actually it was a bluffing by the producer, in the end. Drake was selected as a successful candidate.
Finally! Just could wait when you would be back with new expressions! Thank you so much! And a big "thank you" to Drake, he is really great at explaining expressions!

I take my time just to write down the entire conversation with Drake to improve my listening 🎧 skill, it's was very helpful, and it gave me a peace of mind when realize that just a couple months ago I cannot understand anything but now, not only i can hear but also I can write and build phrases on my own. You guys can do it also, you just need to put your mind to it! Thank you so much professor!
What I liked in this tutorial is that Liza is collaborating to the young people that are circulating in modern society nowadays, so it is always updated if there is any new slang, idioms or phrases to be learned. I recommend this lessons to my sisters.
Great video! I am close to get my certification as a Medical Interpreter, and I still using Lisa's videos to expand my vocabulary the're extremely helpful.
Thank you Lisa for incredible videos I really enjoy your lessons very much the way you teach is sth special and a good way to gain Vocabulary and use it in daily conversations with a good expression
Hi Lisa. I think that here in Brazil we have a similar expression to 'Out of Sight Out of Mind' that literally is 'What eyes don't see heart doesn't feel'. Thanks for another fantastic lesson with Drake!
Thank you for helping others so please try to do more videos on connected speech, contractions, analysis of spoken language which can help foreigners learn the spoken language in more easy way
Magnificent lesson Lisa. So many useful expressions, it's difficult to pick up only one to try to memorize. I wish I had time enough to do the homework that you assigned to us, but I will have to choose only one idiom as I'm watching this lesson on a bus on my way to work (don't laugh at me, please!) I really enjoyed the expression I COULD USE. Maybe it's because I could use so many things recently. I could use some vacations... I could use some workouts at the gym I could use some new clothes... 😭 I better wrap up my comment right now. It's no place for therapy. Thank you Lisa!
