Histon Football Club are a team from a small village in Cambridgeshire, for so long they lived in the shadow of near city rivals Cambridge United. In 2009 they nearly did the unthinkable and reached the conference playoffs. Putting them in touching distance of the Football League. Outcompeting the likes of Oxford United, Mansfield Town and Wrexham. We may never see the likes of it again.
The burden of competing to gain promotion took its toll, as the club tumbled down the divisions and now finds itself at step five of the Non-League system. This short documentary explores the ambitions of the current club and what the future may hold for Histon Football Club.

Remember them playing Leeds in the Fa cup and my old club farsley Celtic in the 2007/08 season. Shows sometimes a club can travel too far

Love your content massively! Thanks for making your recent videos. I remember Histon coming to abbey over a decade ago on Boxing Day and getting a result from memory. And also playing Leeds at home in FA Cup on BBC with a load of people trying to watch it from the road. Had the pleasure of playing on this pitch against their youth team as well.
