Unit 1- Reading : A window to the world.
'A window to the world ' is used metaphorically. It means that something ( such as reading a book, listening to a news service , viewing a website) gives you a broader perspective of the world than you would otherwise have Reading is important as it develops the mind. Reading also improves our conversational skills, expands our vocabulary and helps us learn new thing.
The two types of books can be further divided into many different types. Genres under nonfiction includes books such as history, guides , health, dictionary , cook book , encyclopedia and etc. Genres under fiction includes storybook, folklore, fairytales, science fiction , picture book . crimes and etc.
In this unit, there are a few vocabularies that we have to know, such as autobiography, bookworm genre , blurb.
