• English paper piecing (EPP) involves stabilizing fabric pieces with paper before sewing them into intricate designs. It is most effective for shapes that do not have long straight sides and will require numerous set-in corners, such as hexagons and diamonds. Because EPP is done by hand, it makes a terrific on-the-go project and that is great if that is what you want to do.
BUT there are sometimes when combining hand and machine work is best for the artist and the finished project.
• With my technique you will learn and efficient way to prepare the quilt shapes and sew them by hand or by machine. The bonus is by not using a paper template, you do not have to remove the paper.
- The blocks can be trimmed to approximately 8" to 8 1/2" - make a few blocks at find your most common size.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was wondering how to line up the points and how to match the points perfectly. That was making me frustrated. What an awesome video. In 30 minutes I learned more about my mistakes and how to prevent them, than all the other books and videos I've seen. Awesome. Thank you again. Even old quilters can learn new tricks.

Hi, have you ever used those magnets...SewTites? They don't slip or fall off like the binding clips, and won't stick you like pins. They will hold very tight AND relieve the hand cramping from trying to hold the fabrics together. Can also be a needle minder for you. Great little product. ❤

This is a project I think I will venture into hand sewing. What kind of thread do you use?

Hi Betty, I like to use YLI Select cotton, it is a coated thin cotton thread but it's hard to find. Using a good 50 weight cotton like Wonderfil Kotton and running it through the Thread Heaven works really good.

Do you have any video showing the connecting stripes with the single diamonds where the blocks meet?

For this quilt, the instructions are in the booklet or you could watch this video where I show you how to add the sashings in a Quilt as You Go method - ru-vid.comSqxSb9ygy04?feature=share

So have you used an inkjet printer to print the patterns on the bosal? There are times that inkjet printing will run if it gets wet. It would be a shame to go through all this work and then have black ink bleed from the bosal and into the fabric when you wash the quilt.

Hey Georgia, I don't have an inkjet so I don't know :( - there is nothing about it on the package.

I can't get your video to play. This looks like it would be very interesting; and, something I would love to try. However, this video will not play.

Hi Dagmar :) Have not heard from you in a while. This line from was Zen Chic for Moda but I don't know the name of the collection. I have probably had that pack for a couple of years so I don't know if it's available anymore.
