Prepositions are undoubtedly tricky .These tiny but important words can change the meaning completely if wrongly used. But Vanessa certainly has way ofmaking them appear simple and easy to comprehend. She articulate and explains in the clearest manner possible, two important characteristics of a great teacher
Thanks so much lovely teacher. I’ve gotten 13 out of 15 and didn’t expect that. I like learning English all the time but above all Vanessa’s lessons are my favorite
the example is like to its mean speak to someone directly for mean speak to someone indirectly Example for ''to'' : you doing your music performance to your audience at that room because their are there listening you. example for "for" : you doing your music performance for your mentor, even though your mentor wasn't attend.
Great question! “It’s important TO me” = I value it, it’s special to me, I feel that it’s is a priority (this is more heartfelt/emotional than FOR) Grammar: NOUN/GERUND is important TO me “It’s important FOR me to do something ” = it will benefit me or someone else; it’s my responsibility to do it; it’s a necessity Grammar: It’s important FOR me/you/him INFINITIVE (to do something) For example: my parents are important TO me. (I love my parents, they are special to me, and they are a priority in my life) Getting a degree is important TO me (this is a priority in my life; it’s a special life goal of mine) It’s important FOR me to wear sunscreen at the beach because I get a sunburn easily It’s important FOR me to call my parents daily because they are elderly and someone needs to check on them and make sure they’re ok It’s important FOR me to get a degree because I can’t get the job I need without it (I need the degree) It’s important FOR people to drink water because they will die without it Hope this helps 😊
Questions are easy for me,but it is a good RU-vid for me because I am not good at listening English. I hope every English speaker speak solely and clearly like you.
Ive got 13/15 in the quiz. Thank you for making this video it really helps me because im having a hard time using those preposition in a sentence. I wanna study with your informative videos. (correct me pls if Im wrong)
nabilah azim Technically is used to mean something complex; Apparently is used for something that you don’t think actually happened and literally is used to show that you aren’t joking or exaggerating.
@@joeyopenshaw Joey, you think you can help me with this sentence? She doesn't like "at" this/that house. She doesnt live "in" this/that house. She doesnt live in/at this/that Property? Thank you in advanced 😊
Lisa Zelaia “this” is used to mean something close to you and “that” is something far away from you. It’s mostly “in this” and “at that” because usually when you say “this” you are in or near something. However, this can change from person to person. I hope this can be helpful.
@@joeyopenshaw thank you for replying 😊 what happen is that i work for an electric company and the person I spoke to was complaining about the charges on the bill because the account was under her name but she said the address was not right and that she didnt even live there. So when it comes to documenation, im not sure how to write it correctly:: "she said she doesnt live in that house or at that house"? This house cause im leaving my notes on that account....is it "AT" that house correct? Or IN that house" ? I hope you can help me to clarify this 😊😊 thank you soo much
Hi, Vanessa! That is a really important subjetc for all English students, and you've smartly given us an exact view of the correct use of those fifteen 'prepositions'! Well, I should say I did the quiz quite good as I matched 13/15. Thank you so much for this lesson, Vanessa. Bye!
I have depression but always I feel hope and hapiness with your videos. My biggest wish is escape from my dictatorship country but not only I don't have money for that but I can't speak English too. @@brunasantana8266 Unfortunately I'm born in Iran, 16 years after the Satanic Revolution of 1979. In Iran, the unemployment rate is very high, and even highly educated people is ready to hired as hardest more than 12 hours work a day but with lowest salaries. The legal wage of a worker with even 12 hours work every day is 10,000,000 to 12,000,000 IR Rial and 1 US Dollar worth at least 130,000 IR Rial that means a worker in Iran take $76 to $92 US dollar in every month. I can work hard every day and save almost all of it every month but with $92 a month I can reach 1100 US Dollar in a year and I don't think there is any place in the world that I can migrate to it with $1100 or even $5500 with 5 year saved money. Most of poor people in Iran are depressed and just spending their life to reach dying moment like me.Every night I wish to don't wake up tomorrow. Sorry for my bad English, I spend a lot of time to write this.
@@hsgmasroor you are not so bad! You've got access to videos like this! May be It'll change your life someday! I wish you don't give up! I'll pray for you
Thank you so much I can easily hear some of the word you're saying, you're accent is good or maybe my ears are getting good at listening. Pls make more videos 💟💟
I guess these prepositions are very simple but it's vital that you learn them. I got all the answer correctly. Don't worry if you don't know how to use them, you'll learn gradually and when you realized you just learned. That's what happened with me. The channel of Vanessa is very useful to learn English. I still learning a lot with her!
Hi Vanessa I had just 1 mistake I think that's good result for me. I like so much your lessons because you speak very clearly and u explain clearly too❤
I learnt some important points from this video, thanks Vanessa keep up the good work. Oh and u were right, I scored 15/15 even though I didn't expect to
I really like your way of teaching Ma'am. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am just confused on how do we use the preposition, to, for, and with in terms of giving. Example: to you, with you, and for you. How to use these correctly? Thank you & God Bless!
It was easy for Japanese people to understand them cuz Japanese people hardly speak English and we use wrong English sometimes. Your explanation was so good. I subscribed your channel!!!
I've got everything correct. Because the quiz is so easy that anyone can answer all the questions you posed very easily. Next time please ask tougher questions. Thank you
You have heard a lot of proposition during this lesson. How did you do this quiz? I'm doing well with your great effort, love you so much Vanessa. deep thanks a lot.
Great and very useful video!! Thanks Vanessa! Prepositions are a topic that, even though I have a C2 level of English, I still have doubts about! It's quite sad for me to still doubt about the use of some of the very basics of English, like prepositions. I love English and I've been studying it for years, and it's crazy to me how weird some things in this language can be. If only I were a native ! 😅
we were in the mall, when myself walk towards at the National bookstore to buy some paint i stumbled upon my foot and find myself slouching on the floor.
I got 14/15.Simply happy & contented.U are simply amazing mam.The way you talk with such beautiful expressions makes us more attentive towards the lesson. There was no any single dull moment during the video.Hats off to you.Much love from 🇱🇰 😚😚❤️
