Please visit my website: www.weldingand... Thickness range for welder performance qualification and welding procedure qualification is explained with the help of tables provided in ASME Section IX (2017 edition).
This is a highly briefed definite knowledge. Request to have a stock of such documents for downloading by users. All about various conventional welding works as the field of welding is vast.

@Magnus Rayan Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
No such " Unlimited " if you referring to the max to be welded (QW-452) it shall not exceed the range of your qualified procedure as per QW-451 also... please see welder performance -essential variables Table QW 353 (SMAW) for weld metal deposition QW 404.30
Thanks sir it's very informative, sir can u make vedio on Destructive test (all) which are required to carry out after welding of test coupan and for each test what will be the specimen sizes on what is acceptance criteria for each test.it will be very helpfull sir.
Sir, More than 13 mm for three-layer How we decide the electrode dia for that because if we use higher dia then absolutely the height of the layer will be an increase Can you please correct me...
Thank you sir it was very much helpfull, I hv a question. In this video u hv not describe the thickness range for PQR of Pipes, u mentioned only for Plates. Or if u hv mentioned in other video then plz send me the link.
Hi pro!!! Let I explain our situation: Our company need qualification a WPS by FCAW pipe + Plate (not require CVN test). We contact with third party, and they give to us the advise that, IF we want to weld multi Pass or Single Pass, we need perform testing on both specimens (single + multi). If we perform only Single (or Multi), we production on single (or Multi) only. But, when I checked table 4.5 AWS D1.1 Ver. 2015, multi / single pass is not essential variable required re-qualification. It means, if we qualification with single pass --> also qualified for multi pass and vice versa? Pls advise me I understand correct or not? In other hand, if I not correct, our third party is correct or not. Pls help me in this matter. Because, it can help us save a lots money.
Sir as per ASME section 9 2019 edition thickness of weld metal is the total weld metal thickness deposited by all welders and all processes in the test coupon exclusive of the weld reinforcement. But in video saying that including weld reinforcement.
Most awaited video sir , very nice information.i hv always dought for this thickness range.now it is clear.thank a lot...if possible plz make a video on how to Cs to as wps..
Nice Video sir. I have a question as follows: For performance and procedure qualification, if I have a fillet joint in design, will the test coupon be like fillet welded or the same will groove welded and tested??
