Synopsis: The film tells the love story of a pair of lovers in the Forbidden City who encountered all kinds of perils and hardships in a specific environment and ultimately became a family. The protagonists Princess Jingxian and the Imperial Chef Zhang Dongguan overcame the differences in traditional family values, status inequality, and different pressures within the given environment. They successively helped the people around them, such as palace maids, princes, generals, princesses, and servants, to solve their problems. Through all those delectable dishes made carefully by them, they managed to resolve lots of disputes.
