I really like the idea of powering a 2nd hub motor with the second battery. I have the dual batteries on mine and I never come close to maxing out the range, but I live in a very hilly area and I'd love the extra torque. Liked and subscribed, would love to see a build video on this.
Hi that charge plug I had same problem if you have a glue gun it works a treat it doesn't spark and each time plug in and out the glue fix is tight just thought to menshion normally the plugs are on cell phones. It a nice bike great video
Cool film , those bikes look very nice , I was going to get one but I think It might be a bit small If you fit the tank style battery the seat could possibly be raised a bit or changed to a bigger one , that might look real good but I hope you do the 2wd with the front motor version . very interesting , cheers
Ordered engine pro updated version today, was a bit weary about getting the X26 or M20 on Irish roads. You have me a little bit worried, because I want a engine that gets me up steep hills without peddling. That M20 looks gorgeous, you got some discount, hey we forgot to buy the rear mirror lol happy riding!
Thanks for the review, i like the design of the M20 and i think for the price it's an excellent buy... only think i don't like is the metal mudguards and the explore logo. I personally have a Super73 ZX which i have modified by installing a Bafang BBSHD mid drive and it works great and feels really smooth so the CYC motor would be a great edition.
Another RU-vidr upgraded his 20 inch bike with a 2nd 750W motor on the front wheel and he uses two throttles, right hand throttle for the rear motor and left hand thumb throttle for the front motor. The upgrade includes a 2nd battery, controller and display. He said its brilliant for hill climbing just press the throttle on the front wheel for the hill climb and just use the rear motor for normal driving. There is no increase in top speed however when running both motors as the RPM is maxed out on both motors. However acceleration from a standing start is obviously increased with both motors running.
@@baconbuttties I was born in Rogerstone Sth Wales and lived there until I was 11 and then my parents moved us all to Australia on the 10 pound immigration scheme. I now live in Brisbane Australia, but I do miss Wales though.
Great video. One question i have about the Chao Yang tyres {same manufacturer as on Lime rental bikes} are your tyres on your M20 extra thick rubber to prevent getting a puncture?
Power cable to charger looks like a standard figure 8 power cable you can buy for less than a fiver with a UK plug. I'm trying to find a retailer that does Cycle2Work and has these in stock.
Great review I have been waiting for a decent proper real world review on thus bike before I thought about buying 1 if I can get 1 of these for under £1400 I am definitely gonna consider it as my budget I have is £1500 for a moped style ebike by the way I don't know what's more blinding the sun or them lilly white legs 😀 lol 😆 😂 only joking about the sun & legs bit by the way 😀 😄 😊 😁 😜
Hahah that's the first bit of sun those legs have seen this year. If you are after a moped style ebike I think the double battery version is a great choice and I think there is still a £100 off discount at the moment.
Hello, a really great review, makes me feel good, I ordered one on the 28th April they were out of stock until mid May, are they back in stock?? and is the company ok, I can't wait much longer.
I'm not sure how much stock they have as I think they have had a lot of orders to fulfil. The company is great and rest assured they will get the bike to you as quick as they can 👍
@@baconbuttties not that practical though, depends what you use it fir I guess. I’ve just got an ep2 pro and I have to pedal a lot just to get 2 days worth of battery usage out of it for work, about 25 miles
Get yourself a pair of schwalbe marathon plus tires. I'm at 2k miles with no puncture and I've ridden over glass and all sorts. Got annoyed with my cheap Kenda tires getting punctures by glass constantly.
I would like to ask you a question according to your expertise and experiences. I have this eBike and I don't want to buy the second standard battery, but replace the first one with a battery that increases the range. In your opinion, what are the maximum characteristics on the market that I could mount without risking burning the original control unit? Thank you
Hi I've been watching the video you menshioned the peddling I've bough a cheaper version on amazon it's more or less same style battery slides down in front of seat it's a 750wat 25mph I've tried to sell it on ebay as I was having problems with Chinese sell down London tyres were flat from the box it came in two days thought I thought it could be a terurn.ive changed throttle to thumb plus the motor is a bit noisy. The seat when sitting I go down a little so I've order some pvc 3inx1/4 1 meter long I'm going to bend in to shape to go under seat to make it higher with heat gun. The krank arms in putting small ones on so I'm getting 4 ins less travel so my knee will less than 90 degrees the plastic I'm covering with carbon fiber sticky fablon I've used on my other bike. I went into setting to get more speed wheels are 20ins so I set at 23 speed set at 46 that's the highest it goes it did do 27mph I'm thinking putting 1000wat motor. My headlight and side light comes on when I put display on I've got back light and break light. Yes the main thing about some of these bikes is peddle travel it's a 20-inch frame I thought I would menshion about the seat the plastic hat be stuck to frame then a couple of screws keep it in place the seat put a small hinge either frontbor back so seat lifts up to keep it shut I'm using push in lock I for got I've got to rise handle bars with I riser from amazon there great got one for other bike
@@baconbuttties hi I can't seem to make my message short I've tried it's like a book. I've done this job in a seat before and when finished it looks like it came like that yes your handle bars a quite high I cut one ins of both ends far to wide lokks better. If you don't peddle these bike the police will stop you that's the law your not serpose to throttle all the time. Then it's classed as a motor bike like your vidios. Yes it's getting colder not weather for ebikes
Thank u grandpa ye this one slight quicker than ep2 pro I thing ep2 pro peaks 960 w 750w motor and M20 1000 on ep u do 45 46 47 depends on your kg. M20 should go when I on it like53 54 km
@@steveworkman4289 engwe does good bikes for a price what's so ever I would reccomendate you avoid any type of police or public since society is not so nice .
This may seem a silly question but where do you get the bikes from,i tried to order an xp-2 pro today going to glasgow and it quite blatantly told me they dont ship to the uk,im confused, anyone help thanks
Love the video and would love to be able to purchase one but after taking a look on trust pilot the company have no working phone lines... Leave customers waiting without any updates and also expect them to fix issues... Is anyone else having issues? I'd really love to get one but so skeptical having seen other people's feedback.
I have had a positive experience with Engwe and no issues with their ebikes. They have even asked me for suggestions on how to improve customer experience. I have heard that sometimes stock can be an issue but that's down to good sales I assume. Have you seen any positive reviews on trust?
@@baconbuttties I have but very hard to discern the true from the fake on there... I'll just have to bite the bullet or buy a more expensive variant here in the UK. Thanks for the reply and keep up the great work!
If you buy from this company you will regret it. I did and I do, there have been many accidents and write of doesnt say alot for all these great reviews. My battery lasted 6 weeks so cant use my bike Engwe refuse to believe me. If you have already got one I'm sorry.
@@100gpdriver all the Engwe bikes I have reviewed have been great and the people who have bought them off me have been very happy and no complaints at all
Hi, REALLY IMPORTANT , watched your video riding Engui M20 on the road and ordered one for myself and then found out today they are illegal on UK roads so what have you done to ride yours legally on road, really peed off I’ve ordered something I can’t use on road?
I never said in the video that it meets legal requirements. Many of these ebikes are sold and I would suggest removing the throttle and setting the speed limit to 15.5 mph to be more on the legal side. I always stick to the legal speed limit and only use pedal assist on main roads.
So pissed off now, you reviewed this bike on the road which is really misleading “and illegal it seems” wish you had mentioned it for those of us new to this form of transport, now I can’t contact seller and have bought a dud and I need it for work.☹️
The 203mm discs are more about dissipating heat more effectively on long downhill rides due to more mass on the rotor. Plus you do get better braking from less force. 👍
@@baconbuttties exactly , though I would argue the force from 160mm is still adequate for the sub 25mph range. Fading can be a problem on steeper hills but running shimano ICE discs i notice it seldom or ignore it subconsciously to validate by purchase lool
Hi my m20 is stuck on password mode it’s p8 a 4zeros under it I can’t use it with out this code I’ve contacted Engwe and no reply as of yet any help would be appreciated 😁
I think the only gain would be lighter tyres which would give you a tiny lift in speed due to less rolling resistance. The speed increase wouldn't be noticeable.
I think it's largely a stylisation excercise, rather like an old fashioned honda monkey bike, that seat really should be adjustable, so, it's a bit of a gimmick!
Hey Boyo! Great Vids & love the upgrades you are doing too, subscribed (; Just received my 1 battery M20 in Black, however it's been damaged in transit, with front right shock adjuster assembly blown out of stanchion and threads shredded, so awaiting replacement parts ): There are a few unanswered questions regarding M20 setup & custom settings that engwe support haven't included in manual nor responded to email asking..is it ok to ask you these questions buddy? thx
