My mom could relate to your learning English as her second language. She learned from reading Archie comics and MAD magazine for those who are old enough to remember.
Gabriela, I just recently came across your your site and find it to be informative and well presented. When I took a Spanish class in high school, it was taught by a nice lady from Venezuela (who wasn't nearly as lovely as yourself, by the way), but also wasn't very good at teaching. During tests, if I wrote down the wrong answer, she would take my pencil and write the correct answer. I look forward to getting involved with Lingo Coach Corner in hopes that I can actually learn to speak and communicate in Spanish and travel to South America to visit the Latin countries and see the beautiful scenery and meet the wonderful people of the different areas. Thank you for creating your site. Have a wonderful day and a blessed life, Gabriela.❤😊
I LOVE YOU!!! But what I really mean is that your views and ideas on how to learn languages is extraordinary. I think you have an educational background in linguistics, because you have added a new level of learning to my techniques. Language is happening in sounds, not words---VERY Profound and true. Every time I hear a native speaker talk, I want to hear and understand every word, then translate those words to English...but what I come up with either doesn't make sense or is totally incomprehensible. Love your techniques.
THIS SO DIFFICULT 😫 While Learning Spanish I Have Learned My Listening Skills Are TERRIBLE. I Overthink, I Always Want To Know The Meaning Of A Word. So It Is Difficult To SLOW 🦥 DOWN However I Will Practice, Practice And Practice Some More 😮💨 Thank You
@@farhanabintimirza7304 I recommended setting goals. Take a look at this video, I explained a few interesting tips about this. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-uHg3mGp4xqU.htmlsi=3APGgZB-Jtwn9r4n
Ahora mismo, he estado escuchando a Los Chunguitos, Rumba Tres, Peret y Las canciones del barrio de España. No lo entiendo todo, pero me ayuda mucho. Saludos desde Irlanda
After finding one of your videos, I've been watching one after another! Very helpful content. Subscribed! Also, I hope you don't mind if I point this out here, but I noticed an interesting pronunciation habit in previous videos, and I didn't say anything then but, in this video, your pronunciation of "focus" makes me think I should because it sounds sometimes awfully close to something vulgar. I first noticed it in the word "courses" in a different video. A short "u" or "e" sound is being made in these words instead of the "o" sound in "go". So you're pronouncing "courses" with a "u" sound like "curses" or "turkey", and "focus" is being said with the short u, like in "truck" and sounds like... "f***us."
Thanks! I really appreciate you taking the time to write this (no worries, you're not the first concerned about if it is the F word or not haha). Actually, I often recommend my students pay attention to how Spanish speakers drag certain phonetic patterns, especially the vowel sounds. In Spanish, vowels are produced with a fixed position, unlike in English where we have many moving vowels. Sometimes, it's super hard for English speakers to say /o/ in Spanish, just as it is for Spanish speakers to say /ou/.
When you say the word FOCUS, it’s sounds like your saying a bad curse word Fuckus. To avoid that, the word FOCUS should sound like this “Fough-cus” 😊 Hope that helps
Thank you! In the next video, we'll get a lot of F words to practice 🤣. I mean, I will focus on the pronunciation of 'focus'; the other F word seems to be fine!
I LOVE YOU!!! But what I really mean is that I love the way you pronounce the words "focus" and "categorize." When you say focus, to our English ears it sounds like you are saying (forgive the profanity) "fuck us". Its a bit distracting, but coming from you its kinda cute! If I can humbly make a suggestion that you try to use a little French, "faux-kus" maybe. I couldn't begin to help with "categorize", there are just too many vowels in that word and they all project different sounds than normal. In Spanish, all vowels sound the same, so I understand your difficulty. High praise to you cariño.
Just found your channel and I love how you explain things! This video, specifically, addresses my listening weakness and I’m going to try shadowing ASAP.
¡Saludos Profesora! I love the sounds when you read " en el carro de Ramon ruedan rapido...". The way you make focus in sounds is very interesting and refreshing. Yes , I so much like your content.Muchísimas gracias Profesora. 🥇🏅🎖️🏆⭐👍
