Rich, you are the authority of siril processing, please keep it up. you have taken my processing game to another level in the past month or so. greatly appreciated!
Rich, I'm really loving these Siril tutorial videos. It seems that Siril is more capable than I had first thought. I'm really looking forward to trying out all these tools and adding them into my work flow.
Great explanation of the tool, especially whatbit is doing in the background. Something I find essential to know rather than randomly playing up with sliders.
All these videos about the various tools now available in Siril are starting to make me wonder if I really ever even need Pixinsight to get the results I want! Another great video!
I played with this feature a long time ago and never could get results I liked. Due to not really knowing what it was doing. Thanks for explaining it. I will try it again in the future.
Another good tutorial. Looks great a very nice image. I was wondering is Siril has any tools that can deal with really bright Highlights like Orions core or Galaxy cores. I'm going to purchase Pixinsight soon it has a powerfull one click script for that and a good mosaic tool as well. I use a Square ASI533MC-pro so sometimes that requires a mosaic on some targets.
Rich - I watch everyone of your Siril videos many times to get it all absorbed. The one video I wish you would produce is using Siril preprocessing with Master Darks and Master BIAS Flats
@@DeepSpaceAstro When I create Darks and flats a master is created instead of 60 sub darks and flats. I cannot figure out how to get Siril to accept the masters like ASTAP does. I find it easier to use a master and then use it for subsequent sessions. If I put the master in the appropriate folder Siril fails.
I believe he is referring to Gary Snow's modified scripts which use a master dark/calibrated flat with your light subs instead of reprocessing them every stack run. It works extremely well, saves alot of disk space and speeds up stacking a bit....
@@DeepSpaceAstro haha yeh absolutly - I have an HEQ5 mount but no scope as yet so just usin my nikon Z6 and a 200mm lens but saving for the Sky-Watcher Evostar 80ED DS-Pro scope , im along way off of that for now but hopefully by the end of the year il have it :)
Well I haven't gone down the mono path yet, still just shooting color, but maybe someday I'll try to grab some mono from somewhere and put something together.
