No like any idol who debuted had to go through so much hardship . Its really unbelievable when you are just a teen and had to go through all that . Like teens in general got so many issues but when you are a trainee wheeww man its really unbelievable

the boys shared how during trainee days, they had a rule where they weren't allowed to talk to other trainees when eating at a restaurant which is why they would just smile at each other and yes, they knew each other already even before i-land! :)
not sure if you know reality tvshow name starhunt? i was one of the background workers (for sound engineering teams). i had lil talks with some people during that time who worked in the kpop industry. not sure if this is for all companies, but the company i worked for prohibited the trainees to talk to each other not until they form a ‘real’ group because they don’t want them to potentially discuss about other companies that will likely to debut them faster in result the current company to loss trainees. english not my first language so it’s hard to explain. like, a trainee might say to other trainee “it seems like we won’t debut in this company. let’s go to ‘A’ company cause i heard they need boy group trainees ASAP” something like that.

Probably so the trainees will have genuine reactions on their first meeting inside i-land. Even heeseung and Jay who were training together for 3-4 years under bighit had to pretend they dont know each other when they got transferred to belift. I felt sad for foreign trainees esp ni-ki he was probably around 14 at that time and he had to live alone in a homestay.
