Nevermind the comparison, but if Picasso and DaVinci returned from the dead and created another painting, there would be a LOT of people complaining and criticizing it. It´s just how internet works nowadays. In my opinion , Enigma is art. And like any other art, there will be people who like it, and people who don´t. We all appreciated the freedom and geniality of Enigma songs over the years, and that´s because Cretu does what he feels like. If he think´s that´s how Sadeness Part II should sound. We are free to accept it or not. Let´s just respect the artist will regarding its own piece. An artist, should NEVER have to explain his art.
the problem is that the "part ii" generates too many expectatives. "Part i" is, if not a hymn, a milestone. it's recognizable, it had a huge impact and it was way catchier (pls note that catchier doesn't mean better or worse). if someone clicks here with half of the expectations i had, they still be frustrated becase of comparision. This one has to be judge by itself but it is hard when you label it as "part ii".
Well said, man! Well said! I respect and appreciate this track for sure and it's not that I find it bad, it's just disappointing for me. But I'm happy to see most seem to approve. That's great!
but it seems that you did not translate the first letter of SADEness or did not understand it, it's about the marques de SADE and sadomasochism, and the lyrics are the continuation of the first song, you could say that now the woman is 28 years older and now He tells: Part 1 - 1990: Tell me Sade give me Tell me what is it that you seek? The rightness of wrong The virtue of vice Sade tell me why the Gospel of evil? What is your religion? Where are your faithful? If you are against God, (so) you are against man Tell me why blood for pleasure? Pleasure without love? Is there no longer any feeling in man's Faith? Sade are you diabolical or divine? Tell me Hosanna Sade give me Hosanna Tell me Hosanna Sade give me Hosanna Now the woman is 28 years older and now she tells: part 2 - 2016 says: Love Pain Hope Desire Live Die Come home I am your destiny Sade I understood Sade I follow you See me now Feel me now All your life You've been waiting for tonight Now's the time to get it right So dare to fly All your life You've been waiting to be free Trade your pride for ecstasy That'll make you Reach the sky Sade J'ai compris Sade understandme Sade Je you suis Sade get me.
«Sadeness Part II» lyrics/paroles: Amour (Love) Douleur (Pain) Espoir (Hope) Désir (Desire) Vivre (to Live) Mourir (to Die) Viens chez-moi (Come over to mine) Je suis ton destin (I am your destiny) Sade J'ai compris (Sade I have understood) Sade Je te suis I follow thee/I am thee*) See me now Feel me now All your life You've been waiting for tonight Now's the time to get it right So dare to fly All your life You've been waiting to be free Trade your pride for ecstasy That'll make you Reach the sky Sade J'ai compris (Sade I have understood) Sade Je te suis (Sade I follow thee/I am thee*) *In french the first person singular of the verb to follow, which is suivre in its infinitive, is the same as the first person singular of to be, être in its infinitive, both being je suis. Cretu has made a nice play on words with this final double entendre, although it may be more correct to say «je suis toi» than «je te suis» in regards to saying "I am thee/you" in FR (francophones please correct me so), I still believe Cretu has made a nice finishing touch to this song's lyrics. I used the second person singular in this case in my translation (using thee over you) as it's slight achaicanistic state fits the style of music as well as it's lyric on this line much better than "you", in my opinion, as well as it's personal context being useable with only one other person. Though the second person singular thou is still modern english, we sadly do not use it in EN the way that most indo european languages still commonly do. On the album the following track after «Sadeness Part II» is a track called «Confession of the Mind», which melds from it's predecessing track (as almost all Enigma tracks indeed do so). At the beginning of this track a Sandresque voice whispers "Come, follow me", an allusion no doubt to Sadeness Part II's finale lyric and possibly Cretu's way of letting us know it is indeed "I follow thee".

You can't expect him to make the same song as the first one. Sadeness Part. I and ll are different.Anyway, this is amazing! Very artistic and unique. Cretu has made another masterpiece and Anggun gave its justice. I love it so much!
Of course not, but the thing with major hits in every field is that every time someone tries to make an extension, it fails. Not just music, I'm talking movies, shows, games etc. If it was something completely new I'd be all for it, but it's modified samples from MCMXC
How old are you? 9? This is not about winners or losers, this is about ear for music. This do not aport anything new! It is plain, tasteless, with no soul in it! repetitive and boring to death. Period!
NEVER In your miserable life boy. I have listened to Enigma since the very beginning back in (and with) MCMXC a.D. I've earned the RIGHT TO CRITICIZE with fundaments. My criticism is too savage for your sentimentalisms Ò‿Ó
anggun gak koar2 langsung kolab dgn musisi berkualitas dan albumnya langsung no 1 di billboard. nama anggun jg dikenang billboard yg dlu sukses dgn snow on the sahara. bukti anggun penyanyi ternama dan berkualitas internasional dan gak ngaku2 tapi diakui pihak luat negeri. salut dah sama anggun.
WOW Mr Cretu you're a creative genius and Angunn your vocals are outstanding. So some of you are disappointed? Cannot be true Enigmatic fans. All Enigma tracks have their own element with a mysterious sound and video that intrigues us to what the next track will sound like...
Finally, Michael Cretu invades us with his wonderful universe, please come to our worlds and fill your esepcional music. Part II sadeness wonderful. Enigma forever.
Honestly, this is a very good Enigma song. I think it could have been one of the best ones without the trap beat and the organ riff, but it's still very good with them. The vocals, pads, and choir are REALLY on point. Exactly the Enigma that I wanted.
I don't hate it or love it...more on the neutral/disappointed side. I give it a 7/10. I do like it more than I dislike it, of course, so I liked the video. But even with that said, it feels like there just isn't much variety to the track and the best part when the vocals take off only happens once. Such an abnormal structure for an Enigma track. Even Sadness 1 had repeated moments...also, it sounds more like A Posteriori than MCMX. No flutes or barely any gregorian chants.
This album is the most highly anticipated one for me for the whole decade. I am so grateful Enigma has come back and just as incredible as the previous albums. I always find myself in a delightful decadent euphoria.
Actually, from all the likes to dislikes I'd say it's hardly hated. It's just not loved. There should actually be an "so-so" hand icon, which is where I stand. But I voted "like" even though I'm on the disappointed side. Because well, I don't "dislike" it. I have to really hate something to dislike it. This song should have been more radio friendly. Save the experimental stuff for the rest of the album. That's what Cretu did with the first 4 albums. Return to Innocence was a masterpiece and also radio friendly.
just for the facts ... Part 2 popularity on iTunes surpasses every other song and it's just right under Sadeness Part I ... btw ... I think we should stop bitching about it and enjoy the songs .. another chapter in enigma history .. which I say over and over again : its like the rebel angel is enigma and with this album is trying to absolve about 7th album .. hheheeh ( :) ) ( btw listen to iTunes samples and you will understand each song meaning and place ) ..
same, enigma really opened things up for me creatively in a sense..used to listen to enigma a lot.. though it makes complete sense from all angles yet still in a sense something different dream like and I’ve been hooked even if not attended to listening for a bit but back
It's simply wonderful, this song grows in me always more, I love it. I can't wait to listen to the entire album ! Thank You Michael Cretu, You're the Greatest to me . . .
I think this is a great track and has all the things most Enigma fans want. Unfortunately the fans who have been missing for 6 albums who are only listening to this because of its name will expect a carbon copy of the original song. This album has been made with a chronological order to all the songs and when the full album comes out it will not disappoint.
"Things are changing, but nothing changes... and still there are changes. Le Roi est mort, vive Le Roi!" Stop comparing this song with part one, it has its own identity. Enjoy its magnificence!
I think this is a track that has to grow on you. After a few listens this has ENIGMA written all over it. Part of a long heritage back in the early 1990s, I hear so much Enigma elements woven in each part of this track. In my opinion a true PART DEUX. Excellent work, master Cretu.
Lyrics - English language part of the song: See me now Feel me now All your life You've been waiting for tonight Now's the time to get it right So dare to fly All your life You've been waiting to be free Change your pain for ecstasy I'll make you Reach the sky
Anggun's voice at the ending part of this sadness part II seems like enigma's hit "Beyond the impossible" which was the mega hit in 1995. It takes me back to the memory... love it so much.

ENIGMA - THE KINGS OF NEW AGE Enigma is a German musical project founded in 1990 by Romanian-German musician and producer Michael Cretu. Cretu had released several solo records, collaborated with various artists, and produced albums for his then-wife, German pop singer Sandra, before he conceived the idea of a new-age, worldbeat project. He recorded the first Enigma studio album, MCMXC a.D. (1990), with contributions from David Fairstein and Frank Peterson. The album remains Enigma's most successful, helped by the international hit single "Sadeness (Part I)", which sold twelve million units alone. According to Cretu, the inspiration for the creation of the project came from his desire to make a kind of music that did not obey "the old rules and habits" and presented a new form of artistic expression with mystic and experimental components. Enigma followed MCMXC a.D. with a series of albums that involved several musicians and producers working with Cretu. The first was The Cross of Changes (1993), which incorporated tribal and ethnic influences and sold over eight million copies worldwide, followed by Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi! (1996), which blended the Gregorian chants reminiscent of the first album with the strong intercultural soundscapes present in the second. Enigma's fourth album The Screen Behind the Mirror (2000) started a slight departure from the previous world music themes towards a heavier electronic atmosphere. This evolution culminated with Voyageur (2003), its fifth and more pop-based album, and A Posteriori (2006), a work inspired by the future collision between the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies, with distinct operatic tones and an electronic spectrum closer to Voyageur than the earlier releases. Seven Lives Many Faces (2008) followed and contained a mixture of classical and modern elements ranging from ethnic chants to rap and dubstep influences. Its eighth album, The Fall of a Rebel Angel, was released in November 2016. Enigma has sold over 8.5 million RIAA-certified albums in the US and an estimated 70 million worldwide with over 100 gold and platinum certifications. The project has also received three Grammy Award nominations. And I have the great honor of having in my discography the six studio albums, as well as the first compilation, in physical format, CD, of this musical project led by the charismatic and main mentor, Michael Cretu. As I mentioned, the six albums in physical format, CD. So I have three copies of MCMXC a. D. (1990), two limited editions, released in 1991, containing the four remixes of the album's four singles, the standard edition originally released in 1990, containing the seven tracks. So I still have three copies of the second album, released in 1993, THE CROSS OF CHANGES. The following is a copy of the third studio album, LE ROI EST MORT, VIVE LE ROI! (1996), a copy of the excellent fourth studio album, THE SCREEN BEHIND THE MIRROR (2000). I still have a copy of the compilation, LSD: LOVE SENSUALITY DEVOTION - THE GREATEST HITS (2001). I still have a copy of Enigma's latest work, released in 2016, THE FALL OF A REBEL ANGEL (2016). Altogether there are ten studio albums! The Fall of a Rebel Angel is the eighth studio album by the German musical project Enigma, released on 11 November 2016 by Republic Records. The first studio album since Seven Lives Many Faces (2008), it is a concept album that tells the story of a protagonist's journey of development and change to find a new, fulfilling life. The album was developed by Enigma's founder, producer, and principal composer, Michael Cretu and German lyricist and librettist Michael Kunze. Its artwork was designed by Wolfgang Beltracchi. The Fall of a Rebel Angel is a concept album formed of 12 "chapter-like" tracks that tells a surreal narrative, based on an epic poem written for the album by Kunze, about a male protagonist's journey of development and change to find a new, fulfilling life. Cretu described the story as a "symbolic journey to redemption - with everyone to define his individual path" combined with "psychedelic undertones". He quotes from various literature, religious, and pop culture sources to aid the story which includes themes of sexuality, faith, and death. In one chapter, the character wanders through an imaginary town and encounters a priestess whose god is the Marquis de Sade, thus becoming a continuation of the story to "Sadeness (Part I)", the worldwide hit single from Enigma's debut album, MCMXC a.D. (1990). The story concludes with the individual breaking their own reflection in the water of a lake, accepting responsibility of its life. The album was officially announced on 8 August 2016 with a scheduled release date of 11 November. Four editions of the album were made available on Republic Records, a division of Universal Music Group. The standard edition on single disc includes a 28-page booklet and the 12 "chapter" paintings by Beltracchi. The two-disc limited deluxe edition digipak features a 12-track narration of the album's story and a 40-page booklet. The limited super deluxe edition includes a signed picture frame and exclusive online content. The gatefold vinyl edition has the 12 Beltracchi paintings and a 16-page booklet. "Sadeness (Part II)" (featuring Anggun) was released as a digital download on 10 October 2016 for those who pre-ordered the album. Following the album's completion, Cretu felt proud of the album. In May 2018, the album was reissued on a limited-edition coloured vinyl as part of The Colours of Enigma series, which includes all prior studio albums.

OK I'm not gonna lie, I was hating on the song yesterday because of the organs, but oh my God I cannot stop listening to it today! I am so excited for enigma's new album!!!!!
This song is growing and growing always more inside of me. The growing choirs behind the toccata and fugue are just wonderful, that's true art, I can't really understand how a fan of Enigma couldn't not appreciate this song. That's the way I was waiting mr. Cretu made a new album, by Sadeness p.2 and by the samples i've listened i can really say that, I can't wait to have TFOARA !!!! That's will be one of my favorites, without doubts.
No one does it like Michael Cretu. at first, I was hoping it would sound similar to sadness I. But then, it's something different but still very much Enigma. very nice work. The album will be epic.

I would suggest small change when it comes to English language part: "Change your pain for ecstasy / I'll make you" instead of "Trade your pride for ecstasy / That'll make you". But anyway - great job man!!! Thanks :)
