Hi guys 👋 I am so overwhelmed right now! I am definitely amazed by the song but a tad sad thinking how we destroy everything around us and we tend to forget where we come from and our roots! I absolutely adore this song 🎵😍 I love the lyrics, the video, the music.. 🥰 Let me know what's your favourite part of the song! Stay Blessed guys and don't forget that we are all one! 😇
I appreciate your sincere and noble thought about the song, but can mankind change for the absolute freedom of animals from cruel exploitation?Cows,goats,chicken,water-beings,etc the list goes...they say something but still sticking with their greed the next day....That is pure hypocrisy, everyone championing about the song bla bla,but where the sincere action?Mankind simply a cruelest.
Yes, the song seems to have hit the very core of you. Bravo ! you have got deep feelings for nature and all things around you. A Wonderful human being. Cheers !
@@sumathiugamoorthi2692 Mr Kavi. Tamil is pronounced as டமிழ் by foreigners. But THAMIL is pronounced as தமிழ் by foreigner. And tamizhan is pronounced as தமிஜன் by foreigner.
I thought, only the South Indians particularly Tamils can understand this songs, and connect with emotionally. I am surprised westerns too get connected with this song. Something invisibly connects everyone. I am enjoying to cry with this song whenever I feel to cry. It make me weight less my body & soul. வாழ்க தமிழ்.
This song , mainly the second half is in "oppari" style, which is an music form, they sing when a person dies, that has the power to make even the worst enemy of the deceased cry. It is a vanishing art form.
After watching over 1000s of reactions in the last few days, I found that this is the only video where I saw the genuine reaction as a reacter. I'm really really amazed that despite having the language barrier, you felt it in your heart and we saw that. Thank you so much for reacting my friend. God bless you. All love and support from South India..
Language does not , words do not but emotions play the true and genuinr role here ..when we say " down to earth" then it has some meaning....this song has come out from the core of someone's heart full of pain it can't be explained . Only those who have experienced can understand it well .
I know u will be cried. because "Tamil" is not only language. It is "mother" of all language in the world. So u can connect with nature and galuxy through this song.
Glad you react to this Masterpiece Tamil song (the oldest language in world). I am Tamilan too but not from India. The voice texture that you have notice belongs to elder female is called OPPARI singing tunes. This normally sang by elderly people in a wake (funeral normally). It is the form of expression of pain from heart for loss of life. In this song though, it was for the pain of loss of heritage and nature. Normally many people who have empathy soul will start tears up hearing that tunes unknowingly.
Brief Info on Arivu & Dhee Dhee is Tamil of srilankan Tamil origin (mother) settled in Australia but now moved to Chennai with Step Dad Santhosh the producer of this video .. She can speak Tamil but can't quite read and write it well as she was brought up in Australia Like wise Arivu ancestors were from Tamil Nadu near Kutralam - who were taken tho Ceylon (now Srilanka and not ethnic Srilankan Tamils as Dhees's mother Meenakshi Iyer) workers for tea plantation by the Brits when drought that region and was once again displaced after centuries from Srilanka by Srilankan Gov after it got independence from the British. Which was messed up by the Brits in not sorting the equal rights first as agreed by all parties which was eventually rescinded by the Sinhalese Bandaranayaka PM period By forcefully removing Tamil of its official status n forcefully inserting Singalese language while removing the Tamil language off school media and how ancient Tamil library and its literal works and arts were burnt down to wipe out Tamil historical traces and that set of the dispute leading to disharmony and friction within the 3 societies -,thanks to one leader (just as the division of India into Pakistan all Bcos Brits messed it up) ... ok enough of this Arivu tries to narrate the difficulties of people being forcefully displaced and so the importance of ancestors and tiger suede rings and contributions made for their future generation S n that we shd all respect the rights of everyone be it animal plants or creatures as we are one if we become one with Mother Nature Arivu lamenting denotes that and also he attempts to sing in his grandmother's old creaky voice at certain segment.
This song is a vibe also with deep meaning which is very nice. Being a tamilan an Indian i loved how you started to feel the meaning of the song..How u vibed but also with the real meaning n stuff. It really made me happy. More love

This song is about village grandparents talking to their grandkid n village people talking to that grandkid n he talking back to them.......it is about how people of early lived equally with one another, birds, animals. Birds creating forests, due to the forests 3times rains/year n bcoz of the 3 times rain farming was awesome..... Pond, water sources is not only for upperclassmen but it is for all people, birds n animals., all people are equal...... All humans are created equal and r equal. @@mahiswaranmutiyarajan5540 Definition of "a lump in one's throat" : a tight feeling in the throat that a person gets when about to start crying or when trying not to cry Eg: The movie's final scene left me with a lump in my throat. www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/a%20lump%20in%20one%27s%20throat
We tamil people may give our soul, but we don't give up our tamil language even when we are in dream. Our language is more important for us than anything else in this world.
Ur true lyrics of song is very emotional. U found it. We are all destroying this beautiful world. We have put into our mind to protect our generations.
Hi, IAm Aakar from chennai, Proud be Indian first, with Tamil culture, you guys are welcome with your two hands our songs and and I am goosbered that you so Mich feel after hearing the song, very thankyou. It a true story happened to Arivu grandma Valliamma. So share her feelings through the song with all effects. I will send you a link to understand more. Bye.
Mother is main part and major roles of the family. That's why in the end of the song, mother sits on chair, center of the family group while others are standing behind or sitting on ground. Tamil is Mother's world.
This song is successful that it has reached you.Your words and tears say that. Yes we need to get connected to our roots, respect our elders and above all preserve the nature around us without polluting it with chemicals, plastics and manufactured inorganic fertilizers(urea). God bless Arivu, Dhee and the team, God bless you too.
White or Black, this song appreciate all babies and congratulation to the natures of this world. All the sweet hearted people when knowing the meaning of this song will get some happiness with tears which can't tell.
You would just get a 50% of the feeling and the meaning of the song with the subtitle.. As a malayalee, I was more deep into the song without the translation.. love it..
You felt it right. The song is about the different ethnic communities in India, who are marginalized and live in remote villages. But they have contributed also, and they deserve their respect and due. So it's a song which applies to them as well as the whole world as we are all bound to care for the nature, ancestors and our parents. In fact it's a collaboration of the great A R Rahman, an academy award winner who composed songs in Slumdog Millionaire film. The initiative is to encourage independent artists and amateur singers, to give them a platform and guide as well as support them to make their songs and music open to public internationally. It's the first song of the collaboration and there are more to come. Superb song and message. I have listened to the interview of A R Rahman, an Indian musician, though I'm from Mauritius.
You are right. I realised the pain of denial of livelihood to the natives in their own land , at the same time denying the space to the unfortunate fellow living species is really unnatural, huge injustice bestowed on them. The point is they , without any of our "sanction", own this earth by their long inheritance . In the name of development , we have almost tiltd the eco balance to another level. Fear , this has reached the level, not possible to reverse to the glorious days of " the earth is happy home for all". In history , Man suppressed fellow human beings in the name of slavery, mass human displacement took place , pain unbearable to the displaced ??? !!!. Human displacement of already starving population to far of lands , promising them to make a better living is an unthinkable pain. Occupying others land and loot them , rule by arrogance, creating the famine , make them starve by not providing them adequate food , take them to some other country as labourers and leave them to toil just for bread and basic living amenities is one of the worst crime, ever done on this earth committed by men , not the animals to their fellow beings . Are we going to teach these things to our younger generations ?.
You are right. The song is about the life with the nature and how we abandon it. Coming together with the nature is what we are. It is very moving and thought provoking. The rhythm and the words and the singers voice and picturisation all are superb.
Dear, enjoyee is the word in Tamil language to call granddaughter with an extreme love, similarly ensaami to call grandson. Here the nature is Grandma which treats his people as granddaughter and grandson and advise to live along with other living beings, and says nature is not only for humans, it's common for all living things. I am very Proud to be tamilian which is the oldest language on the earth.
Thank you for the wonderful reaction; you are one of the few who noticed the line about sharing the earth with animals. Sadly, those lines were invisible to other reactions, it confirms the sad reality of society ignoring other creatures in the world.
Excellent madam , very honest and you had put your sinciere effort to understand the song . Surpraised with out knowing the language u are able to connect to the core feel of the song salute madam from Tamilnadu
