A black koi with a white pattern. A variety that is full of surprises and often only shows its true beauty after years. Contrary to what most hobbyists think, the shiro utsuri is a black koi with a white pattern.
The Utsurimono (Utsuri) variety consists of three different types of bicolor koi. The Shiro Utsuri (black and white) is the most popular of this group, followed by the Hi Utsuri (black and red) and the Ki Utsuri (black and orange). The Shiro Utsuri is a beautiful variety where ideally the inky black background is covered by a snow-white pattern. Like all varieties, the quality of this fish is determined by the uniformity of the colour, the intensity of the whites and blacks, the balance of the pattern and the overall body. The Ginrin and the Doitsu variant also exist of this variety
I personally really enjoy the diverse varieties that the Yagenji Koi Farm breeds. Not only go sanke, but also other varieties such as Karashigoi and Shiro Utsuri have become an indispensable part of the brothers.
