When I worked at Mission Space, that game of figuring out what the person ate from the protein spill was very popular. That ride had at least 4 protein spills a day, but during Food and Wine it doubled that!
Seriously felt a little emotional to see that test run. I was definitely a doubter that it was coming back until you're break down video, and had no idea they were that far along in repair.
Omg that beginning was hilarious, lol. I am a wooden coaster enthusiast (along with all coasters but I particularally love wooden coasters…they ar classics) and I need to ride this, lol.
My friend I wish you’d post some shorts of the wildfire smoke at this park. The images you captured are surreal, and I’d love to show my friends. But they don’t have the patience to watch this entire video like I do 😂
Damn Great Adventure getting all this love and money from papa Six Flags and all we get at Great America is American Eagle red side for 2023 sheeeeeeeeesh
El toro will always be the star attraction of this park, I only wish they would not slow down the elevator lift at the very top and set it back to the mid 2000s setting. I rode this back on it opening year in the evening already warmed up and this coaster was flying through the hills. One of the best ejector airtime roller coaster ever built
I was there on Saturday. The first coaster I went on since 2005 was Nitro. That and Jersey devil scared tf out of me. Always worried when coasters with leg restraints- that it’ll malfunction and unlock mid ride. Does anyone know if this is possible? I’m going next Wednesday too. Hoping to get over this fear. And hope el Toro opens then. Medusa is my absolute favorite coaster.
huh what a coincidence, when i visited medusa (then bizarro) they also had to stop the dispatches because someone threw up hahaha, still the only time ive seen that happening in a theme park!
this weekend at St. Louis I actually saw one ride being operated with more than the minimum staff. It's been fun taking my new-to-parks friend and being like "and there should be a second train, and there should be someone standing there, and there, and that person shouldn't be having to check restraints and then sprint to the buttons..." they actually spent money on signs to apologize that because of school their staffing requirements aren't met and ride ops may be rotating. These signs were not out during the school year, but now that it's summer they are. But they had a show running so that's something
Thank God somebody else got into that cuz it was loud last Friday when I was there Medusa that is a New Jersey Devil chainlift is getting louder and louder I have to cover my ears LOL
i know someone who works there and they said kinda ka's cable snapped and that it may be awhile. They also said el toro is getting its team ready and should open soon. 🙏
tfw you live on the west coast and you travelled to Great Adventure last June and Nitro was closed for refurb 😅 then went to Sea World Orlando this past May and Mako was *also* closed for refurb 😓 I’ll never get to ride a B&M Hyper at this rate 😭
You mention that Medusa sounds louder then it did before (I love that sound/roar btw). This is not a good comparison but a B&M Dive Coaster in my home park /Valkyria at Liseberg in Gothenburg, Sweden) does not sound that mutch as Medusa does. Not even close. But they put sand in the rails cause liseberg have residence areas close to the park. I dont know if B&M put sand in the rails as a standard on theire newer coasters. Valkyria was built in 2018 (Brand new coaster), so it have sand in the rails. It sounds that Medusa dont have sand in the rails. Liseberg change the wheels on Valkyria depending on the wether and temperature so it wont get to fast or to slow. They also do the same on theire Mack Multi-Launch Coaster "Helix". They do this very fast cause the garage/storage track are the maintenance shop. And they have this for all of theire coasters that have more then one train. So all theire Coaster trains are under roof when they are not in use. Do anyone know why not all parks do the same? Coaster trains could be very expensive.
Hey y'all, west coast lifer here. If you need to go out in this mess, mask up! KN95's are going to be great protection for smoke. I double-masked in Portland during the 2020 wildfires that turned the skies red. Keep all your pets indoors, don't try to walk em. See if you can get a clean air filter for your fan or A/C. Protect your lungs if you have to go outside!
Love the shout out to California but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons 💨 I haven't been the same since the wildfires in August and September of 2020, I'm definitely bette3 for the most part but all smoke affects me so much worse than it used to. It's great the management decided to shut things down so their employees wouldn't suffer, it's no joke.
I’m going to visit great adventure during mid July. I hope toro is open by then. That’s my main reason for doing a New England coaster trip this year. I’ve got to see what is better this or voyage
How often is Kingda Ka actually open these days? I really want to ride it before this model goes extinct, but I’d hate to book a trip to New Jersey just for that and still not get to ride.
I went on Medusa on Monday and maybe it was the train but I noticed it was vibrating? Not rough, not bumpy but it felt like a strong buzzing on the train. Maybe it is just the train when they rebuilt it this season. Never felt it on a ride before.
I commented up top when he said wheel compound for the coaster being louder and I mentioned wheel bearings and then you mention it vibrating like buzzing. Which would be a symptom of bad wheel bearings. Interesting.
Hey man just went to great adventure with school this Monday and I just wanted to see if you’ve noticed the ride operations lately. Kinda ak broke in line but quickly reopened(as expected). However, Batman broke once in line, and then we got on for a ride later and about three trains after us the ride started shaking violently and shutdown. Additionally nitro was closed for a little while then had to reopen and so we went to Jersey devil and waited for 20 minutes, but at the front of the line devil broke and seemed closed for the rest of the day. Idk if you’ve noticed it but imo a major theme park such as six flags shouldn’t have such a hard time maintaining their rides. Still a good day nonetheless.
Air quality’s horrible at canadas wonderland to the point where leviathan was sickening to ride but they kept the park open, kinda surprised ga closed for air quality
Stay safe Ryan. That air quality has gotten will continue to get worse. Use a good mask because that smoke is the equivalent to smoking like 7 cigarettes a day
