It's extremely simple on purpose; most Morricone songs were born starting from exercises or scales or intellectual games. I don't love it (and I really don't know why they published it as a standalone track), but I respect it.

The Morricone estate should be *MUCH MORE CAREFUL,* there are 100s of quality track (hugely better than this) that are also outside of the same tired repertoire: Gabriel's oboe, Dollar's Trilogy, Once upon a time in the west... I've heard (young?) music lovers starting to *spread the message that Ennio is very overrated!,* which is ridiculous... but it makes clear how much school plays, small local orchestras, and damn vocal versions (Ennio's son knows what I mean) are putting a target on Morricone's back for the decades to come.

Yikes. If you're a pianist, you just gotta hate this piece.
