Thank you Rimi, Himadri, Gungun....
But don't know whether those culprits would be punished strictly or be sheltered by our so called super influential political "dadas". 😭😭😭

I am astonished that the vlogger abysmally failed to come to grips with the fundamental questions relating to the barbarism going on in West Bengal in recent years in her commentary. The fundamental questions that need to be dealt with squarely are: Are we women safe when women are ruled by women ? Are we women safe when we live under a woman police minister, as in West Bengal now? Are women doctors and nurses safe to work in a government hospital under a woman health minister, as in West Bengal today? It is a pity that these crucial questions have been skirted by the vlogger probably to give the woman chief minister a free pass. Are women women's saviors ? Histort tells us a different story , though, about how women fared under Indira Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher and their likes. Unless we women muster courage to confront these basic questions and reach a consensus, this sort of barbarism against women will go on in India for ever.. No amount of platitudes and banalities will help protect these hapless women in India.
Everyone has their own ways of interpreting a problem and responding to it. The concerns you wanted to hightlight may be correct but the way you wanted to use the same to target us and putting us in the spot with some political angle, doesnt show good intension. The issue of women's safety goes beyond the gender of those in power. Blaming female leaders alone oversimplifies the problem and ignores the systemic changes needed to protect women. Safety and justice require extensive reforms, mentality shifts, and accountability for all political/non-political leaders, regardless of any gender. While historical examples don’t provide a definitive answer to today's challenges, instead we should stress on ways to transform the mentality shift that ensure safety and justice for all women. Addressing violence against women requires collective action and systemic change. Not an excuse to accuse another woman and fulfil the other hidden agenda.
@@CalcuttaToCalifornia Thank you for your interesting response. The issue that women's safety goes beyond the gender of the people in power, as you have argued, is precisely the point I was trying to make when I posited that EVEN women rulers had failed to protect their own species and ensure their safety. Doesn't the thrust of my line of argument suggest that women's safety goes beyond the gender of the people in power ? So, Gosh, where do I differ from you on this issue ?Don't my rhetorical questions imply that women's safety goes beyond the gender of the people in power ? Don't women in power feel the moral imperrative to protect women and ensure their safety ? But, instead, a woman chief minister is on record as having made extremely derogatory remarks on the life style of rape victims in her own stste. What an abomination ! Morever, the systemic changes you talk about have to be brought about by a broad "consensus"; it is implicit in my advocacy for for a broad "consensus". A broad "consensus" in India's male-dominated society is essential to achieving a radical paradigm shift on gender issue. That's exactly what I was emphasizing when I was arguing for the necessity for a "consensus" across the Indian society. So, again, where do I differ from you on the issue of "systemic changes" ? You mention the need for "extensive reforms", " mentality shifts", "accountability" and other hackneyed jargons. Well, "mentality shifts" are the stuff of culural revolutions. A cultural revolution is at all in the cards in the Indian society at this time. So, let's forget about it for the foreseeable future.. And, talking about "reforms" and "accountability", if you have seen the endless footage on television on the recent women's marches all over India, you must have heard Indian women bitterly complaining that things have actually gotten worse for them since the Nirbhaya incident, despite a raft of lawa and a series of accountability initiatives in India. The fact of the matter is that bourgeois "reforms" foster an illusion of change,, but brings hardly any real change on the ground. Lastly, your characterization of my intention is, unfortunately, a unwarranted cheap shot on you part. You and I have much more in common on the issue of women's protection and safety than, unfortunately, you seem to realize. Thanks and regards
I dont understand your intentions - we are using “jargons” but then why your such elaborative explanation you are not getting published to the bigger audience (in what so ever platform you are comfortable)? It is easy to point a finger specially in comments - it is easy to give gyaan in others platform, but it is not easy to implement those. We really dont want to debate. It is not giving any value to anyone or anything. This is my last response. Lets hope for the best of our society and you please take care.
