Absolutely beautiful. I was looking for a good recording of Prelude, just wanted to listen to it. To my surprise i went by 5 or six recrdigs on RU-vid and either it was old, grainy recording, or out of taste, or too "authentic" with all that gut plucking and fingerboard slapping... Finally l got my Prelude. Thank you.
Maestro Enrico What a beautiful playing. I am conductor and cellist also. But as a cellist, myself I have played and heard this suite thousand times. I have no words to tell you how beautiful you play this Suite. I am cannot stop listen to it again and again. Veramente un grande Maestro Molti complementi Maestro, Bravissimo!!!!!! Con la mia grande ammirazione per voi.
I like to think that someplace in the Universe, Sebastian Bach is listening, smiling and saying: “Yes, THIS is the way it’s supposed to be.” Sanjosemike
So very beautiful, one of the best versions I've ever heard. I especially love the Sarabande: lyrical and delicately expressive. I have played this myself many times but can only hope someday to reach this level.
I love the subtleties you breathe into this in such a big hall. I was practicing on these suites all last summer in a live room and it changed my approach completely. Beautifully played!
ascoltato stasera ad un magnifico concerto tenuto a Pieve a Elici , un violoncello che emozionava e sorprendeva. Grazie Maestro anche per i generosi bis!
It is simply wonderful Enrico. Thank you again and again. You are talking in Bach's mind with your and his music in all this set of suites you have generously shared in RU-vid. One question, since I'm going to buy your CD of Decca. Is it the "exact same" interpretation as we see in the videos? These ones in video are so incredible, that I cannot imagine a better even if slightly in the CD. But problably they are. Thank you again. This is a wonder. This was the way. Yes. This was it.
hi ENRICO, how are you doing? I hope well, as well as your relatives; do you know where I can buy your DEcca CDs of the Cello Suites online? Amazon doents have it apparently anymore (or now). Grazzie!
I'm a new cellists just learning. Played the violin for 20 years then wanted to learn the cello. I was noticing that some very well trained cellists play just a little bit above the fingerboard can you tell me why or is that just the way they like to play? Was just curious. Lovely piece the cello is such a marvelous instrument so relaxing and enjoyable to play!!
I feel like for music like this you don't want to adopt too neutral a point of contact, as it's not heavy music, and playing it like you'd play romantic music would be stylistically inappropriate.
Dear Andrew, the tuning is simply relaxed to look for a softer and darker sound, anyway thanks for reminding us that Suite n ° 4 is in E flat major ...
