ENRIQUE CASTRO GONZÁLEZ “QUINI”
Enrique Castro González, known as Quini, was a Spanish footballer, born in Oviedo on September 23, 1949, who played as a forward, developing his sports career at Sporting de Gijón, where he played fifteen seasons and the Barcelona Football Club, where he played. from 1980 to 1984. He won the Trophy for top scorer in the league on seven occasions, occupying eighth position in the classification of historical scorers with 219 goals, being the Sporting player who has scored the most goals in the category, with 165.
He was an international player, participating in 35 matches with the Spanish team, scoring 8 goals throughout the matches in which he was selected. He died due to a heart attack on February 27, 2018. The Real Sporting de Gijón stadium is today called Estado El Molinón Enrique Castro “Quini”.
