The daggers are meant to offer Rangers a much needed Melee option for those opponents who get past our bows. They also play well into the Assassin and Beastmaster builds. I have one character who is all green and finding a close range option for solo play was a bit of a struggle.
600 hours into this game. I havne't played in about 2 months. I'm stoked for this update. I didn't even know it came out until i saw this video on my feed!!
The host-bound progression system was really stupid; I am glad they changed that. I played as a host for two different groups of friends... one group was always active, the other not so much... we knew that could be a problem and wanted to adapt so everyone could enjoy this next-level Minecraft experience. The moment we realized there was no real "big thing" to do together besides the quests to get those NPCs in your area and defeating big bosses, it was at that exact moment everything went miserably wrong for our group. Everyone explored here and there, defeating some mobs or even mini-bosses... because it wasn't a problem for others if they logged back on and everything was still lootable and mobs had respawned. Unfortunately, what we didn't know was that all recipes were now also unlocked for others, making some goals unnecessary... for example: If the second set of armor was the next BIG THING you wanted, the next day it was already old. Pointing fingers at others to blame them for a destroyed gaming experience ... Several days without coming online or contacting each other... difficult conversations so everyone understands why everything happened like it did were many of the consequences of this host-bound progression system. For real... I am VERY THANKFUL they changed this. And yet I lost friends in the process who probably still think to this day that I intentionally ruined their gaming experience.
@@-8h- Yeah, you are absolutly right... thank you! :) Sadly some damage cant be healed and only the real imposter could change a thing at this point for this particular situation..
Love the new areas around the world, but I’m not a huge fan of the massive nerfs. Especially nerfing the ability to jump and cast wands makes using wands much less viable and more clunky. The melee feels better, but I feel like just buffing melee would’ve solved the imbalances, rather than also heavily nerfing magic.
So, you know if you sit by the fire and, play the instruments , they give a buff, noone has showed what it is on the status page for me yet.. , but, it's extra on top of the rested bonus 😉
Thanks for this. I'm looking for a co-op game I can play with my little sister - 71-years-old - who it not _at all_ experienced with computer games. I mean, until a year ago, she'd never played a video game in her _life._ I've played games for decades, but I'm still terrible at 'real-time combat,' myself. (We've mostly been playing turn-based games over the past year since she started playing games.) So I need a very easy game - or a game with easy difficulty settings. She likes beautiful graphics, so this will work for that. We haven't played a survival game together, but I'm most concerned about how difficult the combat will be. And whether it's _truly_ a co-op game, where we can explore, build, etc. together. Any advice? Thanks!
@@jiriherodes6335 Thanks. Yes, we bought this, and we're having a blast with it. It's a perfect game to play co-op. We're both very happy with it. Thanks for the reply!
It is unfortunatly devoid of content though, while the zone was cool it just felt like a speedbump there was the tower, the npc, drum, and arrow quest and the 4 shroud roots, thats it, there arent really any fun things to explore or ince tive to do so, and honestly the giant trees blocking most of your visuals plays into this since there is no "ooo whats that over there?!" Moment when looking over the land.
I hope they don't continue to nerf the mage play style, I've already noticed that my mana leach bonus from my staff no longer provides nearly enough mana return to cast more that 3 or 4 spells where as I used to be able to hit a clump of enemies and gain like 75% of my mana back, now it's more like 25%
Hope this update fixes the crashing problems - haven't been able to play since the Hallowed Halls update! 😞It looks nice though - am hoping to get in and get to try the musical instruments!
Awesome! Bows probably break after 10 fucking hits like wands use to. I'm still sitting this one out. They can't just fix something without completely fucking something else up.
Engine limitation: they made the Holistic engine and had to make the game about the shroud because of performance problems that water can cause. That said, they are working on a way to implement it.
Well thats a bummer, I just started playing and was looking forwards to using Wands. Is that why their shot distance is crap too? Like my shot can be hitting something but its gotta basically be infront of my face for the hit to even connect :/
Wands were super OP at the start and they have just kept nerfing them every patch. They are not worth using as a main weapon im afraid. As a secondary or backup they are fine.
@@stillsoloi just started a couple days back, and I find wands still quite efficient to main weapon, sure, i’m like 100 times weaker than my friend whos doing melee weapons, which sucks, but I manage. The biggest issue with the wands is they animation lock you for long in a game where enemies arent even animation locked for long when you dodge them. Definitely think they went too far with the nerfs considering staves also take a billion years to attack, even with the 50% faster skill. Thats not to say wands are useless, the infinite ammo I have on my two wands I carry, helps a lot. I just have to carry around my trust legendary mace to deal with the bugs, and hoards of enemies.
I played a melee 1h / shield all the way through with no real giant problems. I use points in the bow to give me some range, all the way up to and including Ranger spec but not 10% crit for bow because it's a lot of points to grab (maybe after I get the remaining few wells at lvl 25). I do use a 2 hand blunt for skels in the hollows but I didn't spend points into 2h. You just have to learn to shield parry/dodge roll per the situation and I use terrain sometimes against poison miniboss and bosses sometimes. Bow headshots are very important for good damage. Just remember, respec is your friend, it only costs 10 runes which is insanely cheap and lets you fell out what's best for your playstyle. I also respec for mining and farming, then change back to fight mode.
Every chest is based on the level of the area for item level and the difficulty to reach it determines the loot table of items that are available (hard to find hidden chests suck atm as they are only bronze). Gold chests/sarcophaguses/etc. are of course the ones you want to farm.
They really dont need to be nerfing shit... its not an mmo where balance needs to be king. Just buff the weaker classes to make them viable, not nerf the fun one
I dont know how that is possible, but they managed to make combat even worse by nerfing mages even more, but also nerfing Jump Attack and Stun Arrows, so Melee chars are even more useless now than before. I honestly dont know if the devs even play their own game at this point. But hey... music instruments. Dunno who cared about something like this, but here they are!
@@stillsolo Is it tho? Combat feels super bad in this game and many played mages or a Jump Attack build simply do dodge all the other playstyles. And without Stun Arrows melee playstyles have now exactly 0 way to deal with flying enemies. Someone has to be braindead to look at the state of the combat and think that THIS is the way to improve it.
Mages nerfed? Didn't seem to affect my build. It's still stupidly OP. Also, what do you mean Melee characters are useless. My brother literally has a melee build that can't even die from max level enemies. His health pool and regen is too OP along with damage.
I'm so confused. You people are complaining about this while people in the official Discord providing OP builds. The game's difficulty is around the average and that's just for casual play. I'm actually baffled that people thinks melee is useless when the builds for melee has been the most OP.
@@Nif-kun OP in what context please? Hollowed Halls and endgame dont matter for the larger picture and core analysis of the combat system of the game. Just try to do anything in melee against flying enemies. You literally have no tool to deal with them and not even dedicated air-attacks exist. The Poise bars of enemies make melee tedious af and that most enemies have never heard of "staggering", results in a combat system that is either monotonous at best or a matter of luck, whenever you have to fight groups of enemies. I have seen a bunch of builds as well at this point and most of them look absolutely tedious to play, due to the lack of competent design in those regards. And its a shame that they nerfed mages into a state where they feel as clunky to play like every other spec in this game. I dont know if you have ever played any other game than Minecraft before Enshrouded, but most people realize how half arsed and lackluster this games combat feels. Hell, you can even look into the skilltree and wonder half of the time by which logic many skills are placed where they are. The devs have seemingly no clue what they are doing or where they wanna go with it. Pretending that it is not the case wont get you the necessary improvements for a more fluid and fun system in the future. So decide for yourself if you want to continue s'cking coqs from devs that sell you an alpha version of a game for 30 bucks.
Its nice to see new updates but the game still feels like its missing something. I have tried twice to get into the game, but quickly lose interest when things start to get grindy. Even the combat got grindy, I always had a hard time with fighting and now magic deals even less damage. Equipment was impossible to find and now I need even more wands cluttering my inventory? I don't want to sound overly negative. I just wonder if Im doing something wrong or if the game isn't for me. It comes so close to what I would like, but im starting to wonder where they are going with this.
I'm not sure how you're playing the game but I'm of the opposite opinion since I found the game to be way too easy. I didn't really need to grind, not even for mats needed to strengthen the flame level. Also, magic was really overpowered that it didn't seem viable to play melee classes, which was a gripe of mine since you can pretty much cheese the game using wands. Equipment wasn't an issue either since lvl 25 gear, including weapons, was really easy to come by and it almost felt like cheating.
The game's been around medium difficulty imo. The usual problem is how people structure their skill tree. I've seen so many people talk about how hard the game is and then show their messy skill tree. The game is very RPGish reliant. You need to actually try and focus on trying to min-max your build to further improve it. One thing to also note, don't disregard the buffs. They are absolutely necessary if you want to make the game easier, especially on solo-plays.
@@Nif-kun I find two things to be the problem. The first is once you get around level 10 new weapons and armor become impossible to get. Your stuck with what you can craft. After a point you far exceed what you can craft and are still finding weapons and armor that are not for your build. My other issue is more of a personal one. I like minions and summoning. The necromancy skill is really unreliable and while those summoning jars are nice they just add to the grind.
no one is forcing you to cheese anything btw if you cheesed a whole lot of legendarys maybe even before max level - no wonder you are bored af - but I agree that in the future there could be room for "heroic" dungeons :D
Did they do anything about the shroud? The namesake of the game is literally the worst part of it and makes it unplayable to me. I want to play it so bad but the shroud is atrocious.
Lol they're only going to expand how it works it's literally fundamental to the game. I would say go play something else if that's what you're hoping for.
