I was pretty impressed by this demo. The construction is impressive and I like the nature of the Shroud and the gameplay it adds. It's probably the first time I felt like a survival game tried to be an RPG and didn't make it feel like an afterthought. It's good to see that they've delivered something solid.
Just wanted to say that this channel is the absolute first place I visit when a new interesting game releases. ACG you are the best reviewer in my opinion and every game I've purchased in the past few years, except a few, were a direct result from this channel. Thank you for your service to the gaming community sir. Going to purchase Enshrouded right after i type this!
What's unfortunate is these games that are gay as fuck like palworld get all this attention from fruits like you. And then you all complain about where gaming is going. You're all the problem
I’m not really into survival games, but I do like the fantasy RPG trappings of this one. Wouldn’t have known about this game without this video, so thanks, Karak!
I'd love to give it a try. It looks like it takes a lot of the good things from games that were *almost* good but missed the mark and improves upon it. Setting is amazing and movement is so much more free than in most survival games. I love this new wave of games we are getting. Huge, huge shout out to devs that pay attention to regional pricing instead of using bs steam suggested pricing. Still, would love to win a copy haha
You've convinced me to try this sir. Liked and shared the vid. I hope the snowstorm didn't affect the channel that much. I always look forward to your VG coverage and first thing I do when checking youtube in the morning before work is taking a look at your channel for new videos. I know your power just came back on yesterday. Can we expect a podcast coming soon? Wish you all the best. Gang gang.
I've had my eye on this title for a while, and your assessment lines up with my expectations. I'll probably pick this up in a few weeks, to give them a chance to iron out the early release issues. Thanks for the vid.
Survival game #450 to sit in my Steam wishlist because I cant afford all these survival games even though I do love playing them. Hope it launching so soon after Palworld doesn't hurt the success of this one.
I am addicted to the survival/crafting/building games. I needed to see this video to know that I think I can wait a little longer, or wait for it to leave Early Access. Thanks for an objective preview of this game! I'll add it to wishlist for now.
I seen this game a week or so back, didn't know it would be playable so soon. So many games coming out in the next month I'm interested in, my wallet will cry.
@@The_Diginaut yeah, hell divers is something I'm really excited for, I'm on the fence about Palworld. But I am for sure getting persona 3 remake and I'll see about grand blue re link. Lol
Been waiting for this one for a while. Really hoping the developers keep up on improvements and turn this into a fantastic title. Thanks for the great video!
I'm keeping an eye on for now, as I don't really pick up early access games often. Enshrouded does look like it might hit closer on the adventuring end of the scale as opposed to the survival end. I like survival games, but it seems tricky to get the balance right, to get the survival elements to serve the adventuring without bogging it down with "busy work." What I'd like to see is a system where the "survival" part is about preparation for the next adventure at least as much as it is anything else. Does Enshrouded do this?
He's alive, glad you able to upload again mate. Didn't think you would touch this one, glad palworld didn't suck you in like everyone else, I can't play that game its not for me, but this...this I'm excited for.
Congrats on regaining power bud and to keeping up the grind too might I add! You just got power and are already releasing videos so props to you 👏 btw super looking forward to the next upcoming podcast and hopefully you can regale all the listeners about your game deprivation 😂. But I digress I saw your tweet on enshrouded soon after “Palworld” released and it definitely scratches WAY more of an itch in my book than Palworld does! Not a huge Survival fan but the aesthetics and everything positive you stated seems really interesting so I’m really down to giving it a fair shot so I’m glad you got around to reviewing it (despite the “early access” caveat it comes with 😅 but really hoping it does well and the devs support it!)
No ACG podcast, the greatest podcast in gaming in a while? Is everybody ok? Edit; just saw you got hit by ripper of a storm, hope everyone’s doing okay.
There's a lot of really good little quality of life features for multi-player and just in general. That add up and make the game more enjoyable. Pretty happy for 26$
Game is so much fun. I’ve never even really played a survival type game. Usually cod but needed a break from the stress and the cheaters. Man I can say this game is awesome and such a relief. Just relax and play.
10 days without power with Covid? oof! glad you're doing better. Enshrouded looks fun; it's a good time to be a fan of survival RPG games between this, Valheim, and others.
It's not true multi-player but co-op, by that the server or game progresses quests per server not per player, so if you or your budy plays on without each other, then when you get back on you may be locked out of finishing that quest you were on. So that means you can't setup a server and 16 freinds play at different times because the game quests progress at the speed of the fastest, most played player..
I haven't played it yet, but I was so excited by the trailers! The building looks like it will do a lot more than other games with how you can express yourself.
Is it enjoyable playing singleplayer only than hoping on a server? I`m in two minds getting this game. The review was brilliant and it have made me consider it. I cannot get people to play it with me because of life and work. I was wondering is it still worth picking up and play singleplayer offline?
Great Video! Earned my sub. Fair review, I already bought the game and have a few hours in it. I’ve had it wishlisted for over a year. Really impressed, especially after playing Palworld the last few days. Enshrouded really scratches a lot of my survival crafting itch with the building mechanics and combat over the much jankier Palworld.
OMG that's so funny you mentioned Two Worlds!!! I haven't thought about that game for years until about a week ago i remembered Two Worlds 2 quite fondly and with sadness. That magic system was crazy! And the graphics are great for the time..... Dem animations were really.... Something though. Game had a lotta heart.
I'm so glad you're feeling better Karak. I myself am in the middle of a long cold, gonna got get some covid test kits today. Colds don't usually last this long for me. Cheers
Get some Betadine sore throat gargle. Has iodine in it, gargle for 30 seconds and spit out. Works great for viruses as it kills the viral load in the upper respiratory system, helps a lot. Last time I got a nasty cold/covid I did this twice a day and I was feeling better by day 4.
I've played about 8 hours so far on a dedicated server with my friend and I realized the quest progression is tied to the server not the players. Therefore you are missing out on XP, items, and overall progression if missions are getting completed while you are not online. I have a few more friends getting ready to join my server as well and I'm worried they won't have the opportunity to do any of the starting missions. What are your thoughts on this? I hope they have some sort of fix down the road. Other than that we are obsessed with the game!
i'm 10 hours or so into this game and i'm really enjoying it. I've played a few other survival games before, notably Valheim and the one thing i really didn't like about Valheim and a lot of the other survival games is the constant need to go back to base and make sure it hasn't been destroyed or supplies have decayed or that i constantly needed to eat and drink. Enshrouded is so much more streamlined and "casual" and the emphasis on RPG in the skills and gameplay really help it in my opinion. honestly, the game is really great. However, there's a lot of room for improvements and QoL stuff mainly with storage and crafting as, while crafting you have to constantly make sure you have the right supplies in your inventory at the time cause the game doesn't pull/look into your storage when crafting, its a bit annoying but not a deal breaker.
I had plenty of hours of fun playing solo in valheim, which was a first for me btw.. and I think enshrouded would not disappoint me either. I just bought palworld now I might get this one as well. Been following it for a while too now its finally here :D
To save anyone some time: Yes, this is "the survival crafting game" with a different/new paint job. You'll still be punching trees at the start, you'll be building workbenches to build new workbenches to build new workbenches, etc. If you've played ark/rust/valheim/etc. you have played this game. Great review like always though ofc!
To save anyone some time: Yes, this is the "RPG leveling fight enemies game" with a different/new paint job. You'll still be using weapons to fight enemies, levelling up your character, progressing the story, etc. If you've played skyrim/baldur's gate/god of war/etc. you have played this game. Great review like always though ofc! (*hitman profile pic*)
Just purchased this one and I'm going to give it a try later today. Survival MMORPG normally isn't my type of game but I love building and the voxel design of this world looks very intriguing
Between this and Palworld, survival/crafting gamers are eating good right now. Thanks for giving us a heads up on this otherwise I wouldn't have known this was out
Enshrouded looks really fun. I'm impressed with what I've seen so far, despite some issues. Thanks, Karak! As always, I appreciate the hard work, dedication, and honesty! I'm glad that you are doing better! God bless and stays safe!
