I’ve done the tail of the dragon many times, never done the back of the dragon. I’ve done the cherahala skyway and the tail of the dragon at night. That was something, made me feel alive

Glad you got to run some of the roads close to my home. I'm about 2 hours away from Back of the Dragon and we take route 16 (Trail of Dragons) down to Tazewell usually on the way to Tennessee or North Carolina. I literally put skid plates on the bottom of my saddle bags to keep from draggin' holes in them on those roads. Grew up learning to drive and ride on those roads. I'm guessing and with wife agrees that if you didn't like the Back of the Dragon we don't think you'll love the Tail of the Dragon ride as much either. It's a little flatter than Back but has the same kind of steep switch backs. We love the Hell out of both though. I hope you did enjoy them both. I have never ridden' up north on twisty roads as we usually go out west for Sturgis and then all the other great rides out there and parks each summer. After your Laconia video I definitely want to come up there next year. It looked beautiful! Ride easy!

Great video! Living here in SW Virginia, I ride these roads every day. The Back of the Dragon has as you mention, a lot of tight curves but once you are more familiar with the road you can take it a little faster. Many of our roads around are better for the type of cruising you are after, with longer sweeping curves that allow for a little more speed but still give a nice lean angle (Blue Ridge Parkway may be one of the more famous of those). Come back to the area and I would be happy to show you some. Great series you are doing here. Subscribed to see more.

Hey John. Not aware of any floorboards that sit higher. However, maybe the Thundermax iride suspension system could be the answer and a future upgrade for Silverback. I believe that system allows you to lower and raise the bike. Another great video and assessment of the road. Ride safe , ride often and keep motovlogging !!

Another great video John! Love the Back of the Dragon! I guess it's all about what roads you're used to riding. Living in this area, we get used to scraping the floor boards on the mountain rides since hair pins and switchbacks are very common. Glad you guys got to experience it !!! Keep'em coming brother!!

I put a set of Thrashin Supply floor boards on my 19 Roadglide and combined it with there adjustable break arm and digging it in the corners they are lighter and stronger as well as thinner that stock boards. I feel like I get a good amount of more lean angle personally. Keep up the great contact man . I’ll be down to the dragon again next month looking forward to getting back in the hills like this video 🤙🏻.

Look under the floor boards at the mounting hardware. If you ride anything like me they'll be worn down too. I thought that was bad until I looked at the bottom of my primary. I've realized the bike needs to be lifted.

The Dagon is more for the rider that wants a challenge with over 300 switch back turns in 11 miles. Not quite in line for your type of riding you enjoy doing. Hey but it definitely has great scenery 👍🏾

Watch at 12:14 where the car has crossed the double line in the curve and pretty much in the center of the road. This is what you have to worry about with locals riding these types of roads. It's gotten worse over the years with smartphones. I see them head deep into their phones even in blind turns. Big trucks towing is another hazard. I don't care to ride my bagger in those types of roads that's why I going to get a Pan America as a second bike for these types and use my SGS bagger for longer touring and sweeping curvy roads like in the Ozarks. Riding tip: ride toward the outside lane especially in curves. Watch your speed.

Haha yeah they make a higher floorboard but they have put them on the other bagger the BMW K. The Dragon was meant for sport bikes and sport touring bikes and the Beemer 1600 K

I would of loved to come up and meet you guys and take a ride with you all but I literally just got my bike. I picked up a 17’ HD Street Glide with 9500 miles. Maybe next time!!! This is my back yard. Yes there is a lot of rides better than this in my area that flows better. Hey you guys should start wearing leather gloves. I have seen some nasty shit over the years & the first thing that gets smoked is a mans hands. Kool vid!
