Has anyone ever notices just the SHEER muscle of this Rat? Simply just comparing him to the Marine is enough to say that this lad is an absolute B E A S T.
I'm sad that the Cultist can't do Rat Punch-Out. Just imagine his cute, tiny, pathetic little slaps. Though at least he gets to appear at all. I really like how he gets so alarmed whenever Player 1 takes damage. Odd, considering he wants to kill them by the end.
I always enjoy a good Punch-Out-esque fight. Makes it seem like a no-holds-barred brawl, mano a mano and all that. More games need that, I personally say.
R.R. is probably the second hardest Boss to beat in the entire game and THE HARDEST if you want to beat the third phase entirely. Suddenly switching between such extremely different game mechanics is something very rare because of players having a hard time adapting to the new mechanics, which might be infuriating at first. However, once you understand the patterns and such, the fight becomes much easier. Still, it took me something around 30 tries to beat the goddamn third phase, while I remember killing the Lich first try. Easily one of my hardest challenges to complete, but the fight still is extremely enjoyable and the rewards for winning make the joy even more overwhelming. A fantastic addition!
I love the close-up on the characters Also, here’s my ranking of how I think the characters would perform in a fist fight canonically Gunslinger is a cowboy stereotype He would straight up cave somebody in 9/10 Robot is designed to kill people 12/10 Convict would probably rely on a few dirty tricks, but do pretty well 8/10 Marine is a soldier wearing armor he would do well because he’s just essentially diet doom slayer 8/10 Bullet is made of metal, however they were raised in a very ranged attack centric culture so it’s honestly 50-50 (if they didn’t have their sword of course) 5/10 Pilot seems like Han Solo to his buddy Z’s Chewbacca so depending on the combatant he could probably pull some clever trick if things got bad 7/10 Hunter seems pretty reliant on her firearms and cunning She probably has a boot knife just in case, but I wouldn’t bet on it 4/10 And I can’t rank paradox because it’s paradox -Infinity/infinity Cultist is zero because child
Finally someone got the phase 1 right. I don't like it when people mistake 0:43 as a phase 2 start (although I used to think that way too, the tone of the music changes drastically, but spending some time fighting the rat and paying more attention to it, I realised my mistake).
It just occurred to me that it's impossible to hear the entire track in-game. The fight lasts for 2 minutes maximum, and, excluding the tutorial, the track is 2 minutes 38 seconds.
because you can never tell when he's gonna throw a single straight punch and what he's going to do after that one, meanwhile three punches is three punches that come out at a set pace
I love how it has some nods to the sounds of the original Punch Out! It definitely used the same/similar sound of the Round Start Bell and Crowd Cheering sound effect in the background And also in Phase 0 / 3 it has a sound that has the same chord progression as the Fight theme from Punch Out!
I’ve been repeatedly trying to beat rat punchout, and I’ve lost every single time. Today I almost beat him as the gunslinger, but I ran out of time and watched the cheeky bastard dolphin dive outta there. Update: I finally did it as the bullet
and also in first phase he can decide to just not hit you (or a move you can’t counter) and the others where he does moves hard to get the timing it was really tough for me since I never played punch out style games
oooof got to this guy for the first time and ooooof he is tough i didnt even get past the first phase Edit: I beat him through the power of 9 hearts, prototype railgun, and gundromida strain! I got punched tho :(
he becomes much easier the more you play, especially the third phase. once you do it a few times you'll never lose there again (unless he runs the clock out in the first phase or in the third phase by throwing projectiles 10 times in a row)
