Yes, but i'm pretty sure it would spawn the lord of jammed, maybe not if he dropped the wood beam, but i doubt he would even think about it. Its a shame tho, coolnes = curse x 2 is a great combo with elder blank
with the amount of curse he have, 6th chamber would give him more than 10 coolness meaning 50% cdr on active item + elder blank = blank every 3rd shot...
@@lintysoup coolness doesn't increase key, heart etc drop rates. And he wouldn't even need keys for anything. Also he was at 7 curse iirc so he should've been able to take it.

@@BigKillaJoke I took the habit to always take the past bullet regardless if I'm going Lich or not to avoid this. Also... in my first ever attempt of unlocking gunslinger, I forgot the bullet but the gun still took me to the past. Thought it was a default thing when unlocking him but maybe it just happens in the first time?
@@BigKillaJoke it would be helpful if there was some way to pick up the bullet that kills the past once you go down to the vortex-y room. like a dispenser with it right next to the chest
Oh man crown of guns plus ring of ethereal form is such an amazing kinda synergy for the future! I know you kinda mixed it up this time, but the ring allows you to shoot while moving through everything. Meaning you can fly into the boss while shooting the crown so all it's shots hit.
One thing to note about the metronome (which makes it even more godly that it already is), is that if you drop the item before switching weapons, then pick it back up, then you don't lose the bonus. So yes, it _is_ annoying to do every time that you want to switch a gun, but as long as you don't do it often, then you're golden. It's nice because it allows you to use a room clearer the whole floor, but then also change to a boss killer at the end with not negative. However, switching during a fight is a little tricky- dropping the item, changing guns, and picking it back up without getting hit (though you might be able to get hit without the item on you, but I have no idea how that works). So I don't expect NL to figure this out (even though it was stated on the wiki), but even if he did find out, I really don't think that he'd do it. If I've learned anything, NL would rather lose the bonus altogether than spend an extra couple of seconds to keep it, but who knows? Not that metronome is a common item anyways.
I had a DISGUSTING run with Metronome last night. It was Metronome synergy w/ Really Special Lute + hungry bullets. It doesn't sound like much, but so many of the bullets in The Lute's more compact spread were hungry bullets. So I could literally just stand in front of a boss and block everything. Kind of reminded me of the Finished Gun. 😂
You just made my day. Metronome was always just one realisation away from turning from one of my least favourite items in the game into one of my favourites and I always knew it deep down. This is most definitely that realisation.
Some thoughts (spoilers ahead): > Rat *can* be worth it, but as previously mentioned, you need as many keys as possible (and need to defeat the Rat) to get the most value out of the fight. If the Rat kicks your ass in punchout, then you gain very little. > Liquid Valkyrie. NL's been getting this/Bloody Eye rather frequently lately! Considering that guns and synergies should be bountiful as the Gunslinger, a good defensive item like this should really put the victory in NL's favor. > I'm really glad NL looked up Gray Mauser, I only wish he read that the item lets him steal! He immediately notices the stealth on the Oubliette (as expected), but will he realize its true potential? > The Shotgun + AK47 synergy encourages wasting ammo due to the faster rate of fire, but at least wiht all the synergies the damage output should be high! > Important point about Armor of Thorns: Contact immunity! It doesn't even matter if the enemy is jammed, not being able to take damage on contact with an enemy can be a lifesaver, especially against all the blobs that exist in the game. > That Flash Ray synergy looks pretty strong! Perfect gun to use against Ammoconda. Piercing, bouncing, high damage does a good job of breaking the Ammoconda segments, preventing it from firing. > We're finally really starting to see the power of the Gunslinger on this run. Flash Ray, Crown of Guns, Shotgrub, a ton of great guns that are stupidly powerful with all of their synergies! > Hey NL: You don't take damage from explosions caused from your own guns. Never have! > It looks like the tiara version of the Crown of Guns loses its homing. Hopefully the damage upgrade compensates! Reminds me of the Shotgrub synergy "Just Like the Real Thing", that gives it Shotgrub enemy attack patterns. It makes the Shotgrub lose its poison effect! > Okay, I'll admit I laughed out loud when NL lost his Metronome bonus *well* after the room had already ended! > Not the Brick Breaker! Ah, I'll be honest, I have no idea what the synergies are with it, so maybe it's good. > Kruller Glaive hitting every enemy in the room? Damn, that's a fine synergy! Considering that it stuns every enemy it hits, it should trivialize room combat. > Elder Blank vs Ring of Ethereal Form? One blanks bullets, one makes you invincible. They accomplish the same thing: Protecting you from damage. > Elder Blank is 2 curse, +2.5 from stealing. So that's a 4.5 curse shift. Let's also not forget the 2.5 curse from buying the Wax Wings, and the 1 curse from Wood Beam. 8 total curse. No wonder there's so many more jammed enemies! > Good of NL to notice that he couldn't take the Sixth Chamber because his curse was high. Sixth Chamber is 2 curse, so if he picked it up, that would have put him at 10. Maybe one day Lord of the Jammed will grace NL with his presence. > Oh no. He forgot the Bullet. Honestly it's understandable since the past is just the regular Bullet Hell with a slightly altered boss. I think you can do a regular Lich fight as the Gunslinger, but you might have to defeat the past version first. > And I looked it up because I thought you could still do the past without the Bullet: In version 2.1.6 they patched it so you *had* to have the Bullet to do the Gunslinger's past. @@JayStryerTheDeadWizard I don't think so? How sure are you about that. NL has stolen multiple times lately I'm like 80% sure he never used Mauser to do so. He used a different invisibility item one time I think, but I don't think he knows all invisibility can steal.
@@NearoC i'm very sure he used Mauser to do it recently. i distinctly remember him firing a clip from it at nothing in an empty room and then heading into the shop to steal something while invisible
@@Balore oh I just thought of one. The other day I picked up the crest on the oubliette, the immediately got cigarettes right after, thought "oh that makes me cooler" and used it immediately without realising it does damage
In the forge, instead of playing around metronome and relying on a gun you can't aim you should've used the heck blaster to remove jam from the enemies and used a more reliable gun instead. Metronome runs counter to the use of multiple guns in a run which makes it very hard to use without consistent ammo with a synthesizer or something like Casey or Hyper Light Blaster. Also, please read the effects of curse, you seem to think its a lot bigger deal than it actually is. Having curse means higher casing drops, ammo chance, higher mimic chance and the negatives are almost nothing until you go past level 6 of curse where bosses can be jammed. The 6th chamber grants coolness based on curse, so it would've been even better for you since you had some curse already as well.
NL: *checks for secret room on the shop* NL: *looks on the map where the entrance to the Oubliette is* NL: *teleports to shop, to get closer to the Oubliette*
Also sneak attacks from the gray mauser or any other stealth item deal quadruple damage so any gun with high base damage per shot becomes almost a must have.
@@Tauposaurus according to the wiki stealing from her only increases it by 1. interesting, definitely something to keep in mind for future. If you can, it's always worth it to steal from her instead of buying from her.
I still love you and I really felt with you at the end! I was like: hes stabilising, but the video ends in 5 minutes and then it struck me :) Keep up the great content! And maybe one little tip: you could have lowered your curse by selling the brick to the junk salesman on the 4th floor. Also you dropped the ring on the ground, when you bought elder blank on the same floor. This way you could have bought more items in the blacksmith's shop.
NL, the gunslinger's passive doesn't give you one or more synergies for guns, it gives you ALL of them. The only exceptions are dual wielding synergies and ones that are reliant on activating a specific active item.
Oh boy.... i feel your pain. I truly believe the game out to get you during the gunslinger unlock process, i ran out of ammo 2-3 times and forgot the bullet once, it took a long while for me to actually get him unlocked.
I do not disagree. It just feels so much worse to forget the bullet than to get cast into ammo famine, or take a couple of hits that shouln't have hit you and get you flustered into taking more because you get pissy

A criticism of a game's tedious mechanics can always be met with "git gud lol", but that doesn't really diminish the initial criticism - they made it a chore, one where a moment's absent-mindedness costs you two hours of your life. And that decision is the developer's, not the player's.
@@IBlack04 I totally blame myself for things that are clearly my fault, But when you get 0 ammo drops total over floors 4 5 and bullet hell, While not impossible its quite hard to manage when you nothing but a start weapon to fight in bullet hell.
I think the greatest mistake in this run was not picking up so many cursed items but putting too much confidence on the randomness of the Crown gun. It seems not reliable for the later levels of the game. You had the Shotgrub and the Nial gun which would have allowed you to have a much more controlled run of that last level. Anyways, you forgot the bullet, sooooooo... haha, good video as always eggman
You should stop being so worried about curse. 1-6 curse is almost purely beneficial- you get more money, more ammo, and more mimics, in return for 1-5% of enemies being jammed (which produces even more money), and a slight decrease in non-ammo room reward spawns. Until 7 curse there's no chance for bosses to become jammed, and there are a few items that have great synergy with curse. Be more aggressive about taking it as long as you won't go to 7 or more.
As soon as I saw him find the Dragun in the beginning of the floor and didn't say: "We have to get the Bullet that can shoot the past", I knew it was a goner.
nl a lot of brown chest guns actually are pretty good on the gunslinger because all the synergies. lowercase r for example is really good with a few synergies

actually, with the 666 chamber he would have gained a gigantic coolness boost and probably had got insane drops literally every room, so not pikcing it up was a huge mistake

So... at 23 minutes he gets a 3000 ammo capacity gun that gets stronger if he keeps using it and the longer he uses it, and I'm supposed to believe he loses this one because...? Ah. I see. Well Egg, you've done it again. Congratulations
This run has probably some of the stupidest decisions NL has ever made, and thats saying something 1. Didnt realize Gray Mauser can steal from shops 2. Didnt pick up 6th chamber, despite it likely being able to give him more ammo in Bullet Hell 2.5. Couldve picked up the heard container from the cursed shop after getting 6th chamber 3. FORGOT THE MASTER ROUND
If I know what it does, I might convince myself it's take-able. Literally cancels out the negatives from his curse, and makes his curse awesome instead.
If you have Ice Cube and a ton of coolness. That would be a case I would make where invincibility (Ethereal Ring, Stuffed Star, Lead Skin, Cheese Wheel, etc.) > Elder Blank. But yeah over all I looove me my Elder Blank lol!
Gunslinger has all synergies for all guns he gets. Which can be bad such as Lower case r, which goes from a cool gun that says different things depending on bullet types but becomes a single shot rpg with bad reload speed
He considers speed upgrades to be the best passive upgrade in this game yet he simultaneously can’t comprehend why slower enemy bullets are good. Not to mention he steamrolls anytime he gets slower enemy bullets
