I agree. Very sharp looking watch and I want one too. But, I already own too many Citizen divers. Still, one too many bourbons and I could see getting one in a drunk stupor.
@@bettersteps hey Emjay welcome to the channel mate and yeah those drunk buys sometimes go wrong or pay superb dividends 😂😂 I would hold off though as I had this one on the timegrapher last week and it's all over the place ☹☹☹
I bought one of these last year. It’s a decent watch. It wears WAY better than I thought it would! I got it on sale and could not find a lower price anywhere on-line…so no complaints about the price either. My daily wear is a Seiko MM300. So the Citizen was a feather comparatively. The Kraken works…well done.
Thank you for the review. Thorough description of all aspects. I'm torn between the rubber and the titanium strap. 23mm lug width is a tough one for future straps!
Hi Phil, thanks for checking out the vid and yes the other colour variants do look good also, if i had been a fraction more patient i may have plumped for one of them instead!!
Thanks for the review. I bought this very watch from Spain. It's a comfortable on-the-wrist beast. Do you find the south lugs at the case collect dust? Mine does. Your speculation that the "nooks and crannies" may collect dust proves to be true for me.
McMahon on my channel?? I am honoured sir!! have been a subscriber to you for a few years now and have referenced you several times also, the 'low anxiety watch' is the comment that most reasonates hahaha thanks for stopping by mate and keep up the good work on your channel as your observations are spot on, the hype and addiction and weirdness around watches needs your ruminations!! and back to the kraken, not seen any dust down south yet but will keep an eye on it, already scratched the clasp but I think with titanium that is gonna be the case LOL my wedding ring is titanium and is even marked up on the interior but i think it gives it a new form of shine haha!!
@@thetimebombardier Thanks for the kind words. I'm loving your videos. Keep them coming. And I'm jealous of those stouts. I need to show my favorite peanut butter stout in subsequent videos.
I'm curious if you still have this and what your impressions are after a few years of use. I need anothe Citizen dive watch like I need a hole in the head, and I tend to prefer thinner watches, but this has caught my attention. I wear the Fujitsubo regularly and am wearing the newest model Promaster Tough right now. I have a soft spot for Citizen titanium....
@@MichaelTravis12c27 hey Michael thanks bud and welcome to the channel 😎👍 I parted ways with this one shortly after as I had multiple issues with the movement, it just wouldn't settle and was highly erratic, I wonder if the vendor had a stock of dropped watches... Very frustrating as yeah I love my citizens also 😅
Great review. As a Citizen collector, I am just contemplating the purchase of the Citizen. Or I was. Now I am googling how to order the Helm Khuraburi :)
Hi chemysterium hahaha yeah tuff call between the two!! For the bhuri you'll need to join the wait list and it'll take a while, I've been on the titanium komodo wait list for several months now... 🤔🤔
Thanks Pete and yes good call, kraken bit overused so yes a cap doff to anyone who is or has ever been a submariner is well warranted - not a job I could ever do 😅😅
I was torn between this model and the NB6005 model but I didn't see a bracelet model available. I prefer bracelets and rarely wear rubber bands any more. I did find an EBay ad for a black Citizen bracelet that is made for the NB600x models but it's really black. The case body of the NB6005 looks more gray. Has anyone found a matching bracelet for the NB6005? PS. I ordered the NB6004-83E yesterday but might pick up the NB6005 model eventually.
hey Nick thanks and welcome to the channel dude, and no i still haven't seen much in the way of separate straps from citizen for these, the bracelet is superb but it does mark up real easy, and i think the aesthetic of a rubber would make this look very cool indeed!!
@@thetimebombardier I received my Promaster yesterday and you were not kidding about its weight. Amazingly light! My daily wear Seiko Tuna 300M is heavier than the Promaster! So far I'm loving the watch. To be honest I'm not sure it was worth the high price but hey that's life.
Hey Bombardier. I recently had a terrible experience with a Seiko Prospex automatic diver. It died after 5 years!!! My watchmaker said that the internals had literally worn away due to the high number of plastic components. The watch cost me $1100 Australian and to replace the internals was another $600 Aus. As a result, I went to the G-Shock solars. Can you give me your opinion on the guts of this Citizen please. I'm super keen to buy one. Thanks for your reviews.
Hey Hydro cheers bud and prospex shouldn't have too much plastic in that several movements use a resin or similar, for example tissot, but that shouldn't mean a movement change, did you contact seiko? I had issues with this citizen movement - on the timegrapher it was all over the place and citizen wanted 6 months to repair it... so i sold it, not happy as i loved the watch 🤮🤮
@@thetimebombardier as it was out of warranty Seiko said 6months to a year turnaround and I had no grounds to stand on for costs. The watchmaker basically stated that I had literally worn the watch out. This is why I’m trying to do as much research as I can on the Citizen NB6006 before I drop the cash
@@xxHydroponicxx ok dude well best of luck with it, if you can get the store to throw it on a grapher that'll tell you if you have a good egg or not 😎😎👍👍
How have you found the watch since buying it iv bought it a few times but people are saying it loses time very badly . Would you recommend this watch now after you have had it a while ?
Hi James thanks for your view and welcome to the channel bud, and unfortunately this one on the timegrapher was awful and yes very inaccurate, so sold it on, not sure if this was due to where I got it from in that it might have experienced some extreme temps or been badly dropped or if it's a fault of the movement itself, I did read that some peeps said it needs time to settle in but I was not happy with it and felt it would bug me no end, really bloody shame as it's a damned good looking watch!!
@The Time Bombardier thanks I just cancelled my order iv seen on other posts and forums many people have had the same issue might be why I got it at such a low price . Cheers for the quick response.
@@AhhB1ST0 cheers James, on the one hand I'm glad it's not just me but on the other is a watch that should work way better, what's your plan watch gonna be?
Hello, I have a huge problem which watch to choose. Citizen vs garmin 6 pro. I really like citizen only when I use a longer perspective, is it scratchy, do you have to pay attention to it, etc ??? I know these are two different watches, but I can only choose one. Who will survive more ??? Which is harder? HELP?????
Hahaha hey John and yes i feel your pain 🤣 i spend days trying to make a decision as getting the watch in hand changes things so much to what you see online!! I had a garmin and like the menu however they are very popular but they also offer a very different set of functions to this citizen so it will probably come down to your needs 😆😆👍👍😎😎
The only 2 reasons I bought this watch was because it was automatic and I was happy to see Citizen make a new mechanical watch. Anyone who is bothered by that because it’s not an “eco drive” is not a real Watch person. This is absolutely intentionally reminiscent of the Godzilla which would be the Second reason I instantly bought it. And lastly same thing applies to the Marathon watches. Who wants a quartz watch? Again what watch person who takes themselves seriously would buy a quartz watch.
A watch person is one who appreciates watches that suit personal tastes, it has nothing to do with auto over quartz unless your preferences make it that way.
@@Chef_Alpo I should’ve said enthusiast but to me a watch person is some one who appreciates watches where skill goes into making the watch specifically the mechanical movement. A major thing is the mechanical movement. Now we can start talking about in-house, proprietary and non in house movements but in the end that’s what it takes to be a real watch person, better known as an enthusiast. Otherwise you’re just someone who likes watches.
Meh, I own a hundred plus watches. Mechanicals, affordable to luxury, quartz and mechanical and for a daily grab and go a quartz is a sensible option. Almost every person who describes themselves as a “horologist” or watch person as opposed to an enthusiast is probably missing out on some spectacular pieces: Accutrons, G-shocks, Precionist, etc. I’m knee deep in mechanicals however a well produced and finished quartz model will still find its way into my rotation. A watch person doesn’t exclude a piece due to its movement, they just love watches of all kind. IMHO and for what it’s worth. Good review, disappointing movement however. Love the passion, great channel.
Hey Nick 😎👍 great question dude 🤣 wow tough to answer as they are so different!! I think pricewise the bhuri wins as it's half the cost of the citizen but the citizen is so cool on wrist 🤔🤔🤔 what's your preference?
Hey Moonwatch thanks and welcome to the channel, I like the flavour of your vids!! Citizen do a model specific rubber/silicon strap for these already however, I sold the watch on so couldn't recommend an alternative without it in hand, cheers
@@gewglesux no worries bud, they call themselves official distributors but seem to manage big reductions but i did get stung on bloody tax...!! here's a link: www.relojesdemoda.com/en/
Excellent 😎👍 i had serious issues with the movement on mine, but i think that something must have happened in transit or storage and i got it heavily discounted so caveat emptor and all that 😅😅
Nice review! I call mine "Sarlacc" - the dial sits rather deep and it has teeth on the bezel. I'm referring to the original movie and monster design not the messed up cgi nonsense that George Lucas made of it.
cheers Jazzy, if you can check the accuracy of the movement, if the store has a timegrapher ask them to put it on for a reading as mine and several others have had issues with it, hope that's not the case for you!!
Ooh great video and review. It is a great piece. I can't help but think that a lug width of 22mm (instead of 24mm) would have looked better and a slightly larger knurled crown would look better... but it is still a nice watch.
Hey Namn welcome to the channel mate and yes the dial aperture is not huge, how's yours running? I had issues with the movement running very irregular 😒😒
@@thetimebombardier I was thinking about getting this watch. Isn't this a new movement? Is it still running irregular? I've noticed may Miyota movements have a bit of settling in before they start to run steady and accurate. Did yours eventually start running consistently accurate?
