I went on a date with a guy and the things he was talking about made me question if he was a freemason. I even asked him and he said that there were things he couldn't talk about and I said back to him, thank you you just answered my question. Needless to say I never talked to him again.

My dad was approached by one of them, my dad is a Engineer director and one of his students whom he taught for 5 years turned out to be a Mason. On Saturday there was a man passing out fliers. He is running for legislator and was endorsed by the treasurer. I asked if he was a Mason. He looked stunned and admitted it. When I asked him why he joined a society in which disclosing secrets is punishable by having the top of his skull sown off, he said "They wouldn't do that unless you really messed up". He never denied it is a punishment. I told him if he wants my vote then he needs to be willing to put America first and not a secret society. So I asked him to show me the Masonic handshake, which I already knew. He became visibly uncomfortable and said no. Why would I trust a politician to be honest when he refused to show something as benign as a handshake? Showing me a handshake will not be the downfall of Freemasonry. There are no handlers!!! Freemasonry is divided into Jurisdictions, each jurisdiction has a Grand Lodge who set the bylaws and have authority over all the Lodges within that jurisdiction. They recognize other jurisdictions as Regular if they require a Belief in a Supreme Being the Immortality of the Soul and are male, not counting the female branch which does exist All Jurisdictions have a charter given from another Texas got it's From Louisiana for example Prince Hall from the UGLE and so on. @Rain Love Many councils hold a prayer before they hold meetings. People pray before they eat food and after. It's an acknowledgement of a supreme being. We pray before a meeting to ask god to guide us in all we do...and after to thank him for a peaceful meeting and any good works we have done. But Lodge activities do not involve worship of any kind.
It is more an act of the heart that that done we can pray for sick ones to be better ... Better weather.... Safety amongst friends family and coworkers.... It's not necessarily an act of religion But more of an act of the heart.
