Hey!! Its Mufasa from Mudskippers...I love that you upgraded the lights...We are building our first ever art car...I was able to get a surplus electric utility truck for the frame...72v ... 3000# axle and we are in process of design lights and sound selection...Would love to chat and ask some questions...shoot me a note...
Really amazing stuff, love seeing new things with LED. My two cents: learn to weld my dude. It's easier than you think, and your world of possibility will open up exponentially. Steel square tubing with MIG or TIG, a metal band saw, and the oyster is your world. This entire aluminum rail stuff is needlessly complicated and time consuming, less structurally sound, and less flexible design and aesthetic-wise. Use round tube and learn how to use a pipe bender, and now you're playing with the big boys
Thanks! I've definitely seen some great steel frames and will dive into that at some point. The decision was mostly around trying to keep it lightweight for efficiency, and also my current workshop area is at home so welding here would be a bit tricky. Episode 4 is all about the platform build so I'll dive more in depth :)
I figured at some point I wanted to document the builds in the future so I made sure to film nearly every step. It's surprising to look back and realize how much fun footage I have of the designing, build and testing.
