TrainsofHolland In Sweden, it is allowed for the tail (or end) lights on trains to be either fixed or blinking. I'm guessing it was a choice of the constructor, Alstom, to have blinking lights on the X61. SJ's X2000 (or SJ 2000, as it is called nowadays) also had blinking lights before, but they changed it for some reason. At first, people thought it was to comply with the Danish railroad regulations (as the X2000 sometimes goes over the bridge to Copenhagen), but the Danish also allows blinking lights. I know, because I recently studied to become a train driver in Denmark as well. ;)

Jan Kivisaar SJ Changed to fixed tail lights on the X2000 due to technical problems with the blinking relays. When the relays broke, the tail lights went black.
