HI I just saw this clip and it was for me a heck of long time ago since I have been back to Venice and your film was delightful to watch, now the tricky bit for me ok. I have my yacht masters offshore and with my parents used it in our GB 42 foot! I used to look after the engines although not to the level you do as I was then just in my early teens! LOL Well done to you and that was delightful to see Venice again!
Hello. First of all, really nice videos. I do have a question. Do you think its hard for an Austrian citizen, to get started/a job as a green deckhand? Even if i would get the stcw95 and the eng1 in different country (germany f.e.), its hard to believe for me, someone is hiring crew from a country like Austria? whats your opinion about that?
g-c-g livelovelife It doesn't matter where you're from. I've with with people from pretty much every country in the world. If you have an ENG1 and you are looking for work you've got a shot. Look at training for deckhands on training websites
so i guess, every course or certificate you have in your pocket is a plus for you, evenif you are a green. Thanks for your quick answer sir. much appriciated.
g-c-g livelovelife I spoke to the deckhands. They said you will need ENG1, STCW 95 (survival, firefighting) and Poser boat level 2 to qualify for deckhand job. STCW95 is what everyone needs.
