It is really amazing how well that Trans-Am has held up style wise. Those cars were designed way ahead of their time to say the least. Amazingly, my first car was a 1985 Firebird TA Silver on grey coupe with a factory performance suspension, 16 inch wide factory rims, and a 5 speed Borg Warner transmission. The car was 5 years old when I bought it and turned alot of heads back then, and seeing these clips from the 80's of Kitt, it is easy to see why!

I thought the same thing about kitt the cat footage for the rooftop but wasn't he wearing a tie for that episode and a navy blue suit with those studs on the colar? He wore a tuxedo in season 2 diamonds aren't a girls best friend. Fits the fro/perm size and shape too lol.

@@knightrcer he was wearing a tuxedo, with a bowtie, no navy blue suit in KITT the cat, those clips was toward the end of KITT the cat, i think you wasn't sure what he wore in that episode, im just trying to help!

Now that's awesome. I saw this video many years ago. I think it lasting a little longer. They also interviewed David Hasselhoff at his Southern California home. I remember him telling the interviewers that he may need to change his Trans Am with a Pinto because he couldn't go anywhere without being recognized. At the end of the interview, he even did a decent 180 maneuver with the Trans Am. You guy's may know what interview I'm talking about.

Mono VCR tape, about all they could do now is copy/paste the audio to left/right channels and maybe EQ out some of the hiss.

Thanks for sharing! That is a great behind the scenes video! She sure slammed that door with the windows down, ensuring a super hard slam. Too bad most of what they had was at night, and that coupled with VHS quality = not so great end result but this video is a time capsule nonetheless. 1983 is when I found out about Knight Rider and like it ever since!

Super cool vid! I did that backward "RockFord Turn" in my 83 FireBird one too many times one day around 1995 and exploded the spider gears in the rear plus cracked the flexplate at the same time! That's when I built the motor to a 383 stroker and put in Richmond 4:10 posi in the 82' Recaro T/A disc brake rear where I got the seats and power doors also!

He always kind of funny showing little insecurities that he wanted to be the "star" and dismissed suggestions otherwise. I met him while working security when he won the 1st ride on the Las Vegas Manhattan Express coaster at NyNy.

I remember Hasselhoff being interviewed on Saturday Superstore I believe and think it was Sarah Green interviewing him. Lots of kids were jumping in their dad's cars and driving into garage doors and fences. My friends sister drove their car into a field across from the driveway. So to keep kids safe he explained that before KITT crashes through a wall the effects guys cause an explosion before the car crashes through and using a combo of effects it can make it look like the car is really doing it. Always down to earth

@@kitt28 I think I could write a Knight Rider show better than what has gone before, but most Knight Rider fans can do that! Anybody who they actually get, what do they ask them at the job interview..."have you seen or know anything about Knight Rider?" and if they answer "no" the job is theirs!!! That abortion of a series back in 2008 with a car so advanced it didn't need any fancy dashboard or anything that made it stand out from a standard car....yeah, that's called being cheap and lazy. And don't get me started on the dodgy CGI and story lines written by a 5 year old, no actually a 5 year old could have done better job, at least it would have been entertaining! Knigh Rider is a live and well if it is done properly, not used as a cash cow for some people to make a cheap buck out of a cult classic! Knight Rider is a TV show that only ran for 4 seasons back in the eighties and it still has an impact on the world today!

@@kitt28 It depends how it's done, the 2008 version had lost a lot of the _"One Man Can Make A Difference..."_ mantra from the original, because it was more of a team, also tried to be too 'MTV' with the editing, too much like 'Michael Bay Transformers' with KARR, way too much green screen and the absolute worst and most ridiculous, transforming into different vehicles. Even Larson himself commented on his dislike for that version. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zEiRHwEH1eY.html There have been some fantastic remakes such as Glen Larson's Battlestar Galactica.

THey must've burned through quite a few train derailment vehicles. :O Let's see, at this point, there would've been Hero, Backup, two stunt vehicles(hardtop and the 84/85 Hero), the Jump vehicle, Stick Shift, Stock Nose, Left Hand Blind Drive, OK, now I've lost track. I know, I'll get corrected, that's fine.
