Ms. Maribel, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your videos! Your lessons are so concise and easy to follow and not filled with jibber jabber (like a certain Hank Green... xD)

The struggle with chemistry is real! Especially online learning! This is my first time taking chemistry; I'm in college studying nursing. I was doing well until this and spent 2 days working through the last 2 problems on my homework and just couldn't grasp it. I wish I found this channel sooner, you've explained this in a way I can understand. I'm not feeling much less anxious and stressed about this topic. Subscribed!

We tackled this in our class but I didn't get why the answer was positive even though the sign in enthalpy is negative. This was really helpful.

So I have to know heat from other similar reaction in order to count it?
@tutstorial8474
@tutstorial8474 4 года назад
can I ask how to solve this one? I really don't know how to this but since the topic is about combustion maybe you can help me on this. 😅 An engine used to pump water raises up 1000lb water 100ft. In doing this, 1 lb of fuel having a HEAT OF COMBUSTION 1000 Btu/lb was burned. What percentage of heat produced was transformed into useful work?

what if the only given was 40 kJ/mol? should i multiply -40kJ/mol to 1mol only, to know the heat released?

2:50 shouldn't it be 5 hydrogen?
@melissamaribel
@melissamaribel 5 лет назад
For C2H5OH, there is an extra hydrogen at the very end next to the oxygen so that's why there is a total of 6.
