I once went to McDonald and got fries with my meal. It wasn't quite a full portion and I asked for more pleasantly. The employee complied and there was no problem. People forget to ask for things nicely!!

I love subway but when I want extra meat I pay for it! As someone who spent many years in food service and retired nurse I can say the customer is NOT always right!
Technically you're right, but as a former Costco manager who had run ins like this all the time, I know full well about 'customer is always right'. The phrase is also more about mitigating conflicts rather than satisfying customers/members even if they are acting unreasonably. Usually, meat from subway does require extra charge if you want more, and playing Devil's advocate, depending on what she ordered, perhaps there is a chance the staff were deliberately trying to dupe her? When I go into Subway here in Australia, I have always gotten a generous amount of chicken tenders (more than 4) with each chicken strip sandwiches. She may be right, but the way she went about it wasn't a good look.
That American myth is one of the most garbage aspects of our culture. I love my country but we do have some tragically bad culture aspects here and there. The rumor used to be that European countries can be rude to tourists. Nope, the tourists start off rude, they get stood up to, then they go away whining that European's are rude. I SAW this twice in Europe on business, American tourists acting like badly behaved "lordlings" and getting put in their place.

And not to defend said Karen, but it is extremely possible to be on the phone with the text window open and everything else as well. I do it all of the time. Smh, & lmao. My cheeks hit facebook, IG, texts, etc. And the phone will not hang up unless you hit end. But this would be hilarious if she really is pretending to be on the phone. So I wonder if she told her that she knows the owner and is calling his or her cell phone and thinking that the employee is gonna give in and give her an extra piece of meat. Well this looks like an airport/airline. And they have a LOOOOOT of leeway compared to a store. In here you already bought your ticket, and if you misbehave in the airport they can call security and have your butt tazered and out of the airport in under 5 minutes, and good luck getting a refund. In a store you will always have a higher up/manager telling you to be nice to the customer otherwise they wont come back and purchase stuff. But I agree, great manager.

I tell all my employees that if someone gets absolutely disrespectful with you you can tell them to leave and I will have their back 100%. There’s a huge difference between being upset and being disrespectful

Okay, hear me out: Maybe she's not faking this call because she actually is a Karen. Maybe she's an actress preparing to audition for the role of a Karen, and she's so committed to the Stanislavsky method that she's practicing in an actual fast food outlet just to see if she can convince the customers.
The problem is that these customers are using it wrong. What "The customer is always right" means is that their taste is always right. If the customer thinks that a purple fedora with a green ostrich feather paired with a wife beater t-shirt is stylish, you tell them it looks great and sell it to them instead of telling them it's tacky or unstylish. If a customer wants pickles on their sundae, you don't say it's disgusting. That was what the saying meant. Not that they can get their way, free stuff, or whatever other complaints the karens use.

I have eaten at subway exactly once in my life, and that was almost 30yrs ago when I was going to my dad's house for summer and he stopped there while we were traveling. It was effing disgusting and the sandwich tasted like it smelled in there. 🤢 I refuse to step foot in there again,and never have. To go to through all that for a disgusting sandwich that I wouldn't eat if it was free is ridiculous and disturbing..

That's something that would be said at the beginning of the call, not after all the other stuff, if it were a real call. "Oh you're an unsatisfied customer? I didn't get that from the 6 minutes talking about the sandwich you ordered and the problems you had".
Clearly she’s on the phone with the Karen Hotline - it rings through to a system that locks your phone, but the Karen hears the voice of “the manager” she thinks is out in the world to agree with her, and eventually gets tired and leaves .. .. or she’s schizophrenic, because mental health care is grossly overlooked

Never go to Mr. Sub after last call, cause you'll see some of the most disgusting behavior from young people as they treat the people behind the counter, like their personal slaves and swear at them then out come the racial slurs! The last time I went an older gentlemen stepped in to help and he looked like he worked out cause within a few minutes? he had a couple of the entlitled momma's boys on the ground and the others racing out of the store, I wish I would have caught it all on my camera,but it was still great to watch!

As someone who used to work at subway... if you had a regular ham sandwich it's 3 pieces per 6inch, but when you have 2 meats like that, it's 2 pieces of ham, 2 pieces of turkey per 6 inch...
How does she know the worker is here illegally? Most places will not hire you without proper documentation. You need identification of some kind. She could at least have a green card that allows her to work anyway.

It reminds me of a guy I encountered on one forum who pulled the whole "I'm not racist, it's not about race" thing, and said that it infuriates him because he took his son to apply for a job and "4 illegals came out of the kitchen". So it's not about race, and he's not racist but he could tell by looking at them that they were illegal immigrants.
We did hire someone years ago. Immigration does not require you to send in the papers you ask for, but I sent them and they called me and told me I was not to send them in unless asked. She then told me the SS card is of a 90 year old man. We fired the individual and called his other employer to let him know. He still had his job as that restaurant did not care. So part of the problem is Immigration themselves. This was in the early 2000s. We sold our window cleaning business in 2004.

Idk why she trippin'. If an employee denies my request to add anything extra, I just say I'm glad to pay extra. If they say no again, I don't mind going to a different location that'll be less than 2 miles away.

Lol....Poor lady. I remember one time I was hot when I order extra pepperoni on a pizza and they sent the regular amount. I called them back to discuss the shortage and felt so petty at the end. This was years ago before the Karen outbreak. Just saying this to say...How can they not feel so petty?
I was at a subway once. I asked for more chipotle sauce. The lady did it but the hole was soooooo small that no matter how many "passes" she made, nothing was coming out. I asked her twice, she was so angry! I decided I wasn't going to argue, we finished that sandwich to my satisfaction and got all the way up to the register and then I walked out. You eat it!
Loved the way that managed handled the ridiculous Karen at 7:05. I only wish more managers were that firm with Karens. There'd probably be less of them since they know they wouldn't be able to get away with it.
She's terrible at fake calling, she isn't giving the fake subway police enough time to speak so this call doesn't even look real. Meanwhile, the rest of us SANE people can just ask for extra meat because they WILL make it any way you want it, that's the beauty of Subway. Loved the way that Manager took up for his employee and told Karen to get bent.
As the ambassador of the Human race, we do not claim this woman. We don't like racist individuals that threat others like that in this community.
